Hello there!
It’s time to leave footprints on the sand! Are you craving the ocean breeze and want to bask in the warmth of the sun? Well, it’s time to get you sunglasses and sun hats ready for the beach!
How To Get There
Whenever I’m feeling stressed and am eager for a quick getaway near my hometown, I look for remarkable sceneries which are also affordable for students like me. That’s when I found out about the Pangeas Beach Resort.
There’s a hidden paradise found in Northern Cebu, Liloan. It’s a two-hour drive from the city if the road isn’t busy. It’s a great place for family outings, friends’ getaways and for celebrations! You can get there through commuting - either by tricycle or motor taxi (commonly called as habal-habal by the locals) but it’s not recommended.
I went there with my cousin by habal-habal at the Liloan Gym and paid 25 pesos for the fare. The views you’ll see along the way are of residential houses, establishments, green landscape, and even the famed Apollo mountain. Once you reach Purok Kalabasa, Pagutlan Suso, Liloan Cebu, you'll need to walk a 1-minute distance before you truly arrive at your destination.
If you’re from the city, take a bus at the North Bus Terminal heading to Liloan and stop at San Fernando El Rey Parish Church. Walk a few distances until you get to the gym and cross the road to ride a habal-habal to Pangeas.
Natural Greens and Blues of Pangeas
This place boasts beautiful landscaping, both natural and manmade. At the gate, you’ll think it’s a humble place devoid of greens. You'll see a spacious parking space for vehicles but when you walk further inside, you’ll be astounded by its garden.
There's a cozy garden covered in trees while sunlight seeps in through the leaves. There are sounds of splashing from the joyous visitors frolicking in the swimming pool. At your first step in the garden, you can breathe in the fresh air.
The staff are very hospitable. They greet the visitors with a smile and will ask about their needs. Of course, before you truly enjoy the serenity of the place, you’ll need to pay for the entrance.
The ground is covered by bermuda grasses and in the middle is a rectangular swimming pool, surrounded by coconut trees. In the sidewalks are thriving plants which adds color to the place.
Curved pathways leads you along the cottages. Further down are stairs that will lead you along the view of a wonderful creation. You can marvel at the sandy beach at your left. The waves that have traveled from faraway splashes at the shoreline and the rugged rock formations. It has a lush greenery that allows you to enjoy the raw beauty of nature.
Amenities
Pangeas features a rectangular pool with a varying depth of four, six
and seven feet. It has a maximum capacity of 30 people.
There are also various cottages available at the resort, suiting the needs of different group sizes.
A cottage for 10 pax
A cottage for 13 pax
A cottage for 30 pax
I wasn't able to capture the whole cottage but it's truly spacious.
Additionally, there are rooms for reservations. You can check out their prices at Pangeas Beach Resort in Google and on their Facebook page.
Tip for Visitors
Price list
Their restaurant isn't available anymore so it's recommended for visitors to bring their own food. You just need to pay for the corkage fee. It's also recommended to bring your own vehicle for convenience. Don't forget your swimwear when you go visit! You can choose to swim at the pool or at the sea, your choice!
