Are you ready to experience a thrilling adventure paired with a peaceful retreat in nature? Welcome, adventurers and nature enthusiasts, to the captivating Papa Kit's Marina Resort!
Located in the vibrant municipality of Liloan, Cebu, Papa Kit's is not just a destination - it’s a gem waiting to be experienced. It’s the ultimate getaway for people who seek adrenaline and those who find serenity in nature.
How to Get There
Papa Kit's Marina Resort is located in Northern Cebu, Liloan. For commuters from Cebu City, head to the North Bus Terminal and take a bus bound for Northern Cebu. Once you reach San Fernando El Rey Parish Church, walk a few distance until you arrive at Liloan, National High School. Across the school is the entrance through Papa Kit's.
The entrance is located a fair distance away from the main attractions within the property. If you are someone who enjoys a leisurely stroll, you can choose to walk through the property, surrounded by greenery and fish ponds. If you prefer convenience and you want to conserve your energy for extreme activities, there are motorcycle taxis available near the entrance for a fare of 25 pesos.
For those traveling by private vehicle, follow the Cebu North Road towards Liloan stop across the school and directly drive through the entrance.
A Taste of Adventure
Zipline - Imagine yourself flying above the blue sea and abundant greenery with the wind rushing through your face. The zipline is one of Papa Kits’ signature attractions. For thrill-seekers and nature lovers, it’s the perfect activity inducing adrenaline rush while you have a panoramic view of Liloan’s waters, the Lilo or whirlpools in Silot Bay. It's an 800-meter ride back and forth.
Cadlum’s Jungle - Another activity to be enjoyed in Papa Kits is the Cadlum’s Jungle! It’s a challenging obstacle course that features the pirate’s swing, wirewalk, shaking hanging bridge, and wooden bridge - truly a test of courage! Don’t fret though since safety’s guaranteed with the staff looking out for the daring visitors!
Wall Climbing - Are you often confused with a monkey? Just kidding. Well, are you a climber? Then wall climbing is the suitable activity for you! It’s the perfect way to test your endurance and strength. Whether you’re a self-proclaimed expert, beginner or a professional, it doesn’t matter! All you need is the courage to try.
Hanging Bridge - This one scared me out of my wits! The bridge looked like it would crumble anytime with its worn down appearance but fear not - it's just for appearances sake. Do you dare to try walking through a hanging bridge that shakes even when little strength is exerted? Then this is perfect for you!
Silot Bay Cruise - Are you rich in your pockets? Then you can try the cruise! Liloan got its name from the local word, Lilo which means a whirlpool created in Silot Bay. It looks fascinating to see waves gently swirling in the bay but locals always warn tourists to be careful. It’s dangerous to swim through these waters so watching them close through the cruise is a good alternative.
Horseback Riding - Wanna try the cowboy’s life? You can try mounting on a horse, looking over the mangroves emerging above the blue waters on Papa Kit's! You can try riding alone if you’re a professional horseback rider but if not, then you’ll have your own guide.
Stress wall - Tired of everything? Want to relieve your pent-up stress? Then try throwing glass bottles on Papa Kit’s stress wall! Whether it’s an imaginary enemy, life or love problems, or any negatives that you’re currently experiencing, a stress wall is the legitimate way to go loose!
Kayak - This is fun but it’s tiring! If you want to row yourself through a watercraft with a double-bladed paddle then try this one! You need to be careful of the off limits zones though or you’ll be paddling through the lilo. It was hard rowing to the direction that you want to go so maybe you’ll need to have a companion through the frustration in the waters.
Fishing - There’s a restaurant named Ruben’s Talahiban and it’s a cottage built in the fish pond. If you want to try eating your catch then you can try fishing! Just a tip, be patient though.
Sky Bike - You think it’s hard walking through a tightrope? Then how about you try biking on one! Sky Bike is literally, biking through a thin wire up high in the sky. Safety is guaranteed but your heart isn’t. I think out of all the activities you can do in Papa Kit's, this is the toughest one. Take deep breaths before and after the ride!
Hamster Wheel - It’s just like Sky Biking but now you’re riding a wheel-like vehicle. Try rolling like a hamster, that’s how it’s done. Just kidding though, you won’t roll but you need to be steady while riding the wheel-like vehicle. This is a tough one too!
Swimming Pool - Do you want to cool down? Well, you can dive down to the swimming pool. Don’t forget to bring your essentials!
Nature at Its Best
What I love about Papa Kit's is its blend of adventure and nature! The place is surrounded by numerous trees and sea waters. It’s truly a place for an immediate retreat. If you want yourself to experience a walk in nature then you can try the Little Mangrove Forest. It’s a short leisurely stroll that will bring your heart to peace.
Culinary Delights with a Local Twist
There are various choices for diverse taste buds in Papa Kit's.
You can try Ruben’s Talabahan which is the first restaurant you will come across.
The second restaurant is near the swimming pool. It’s a culinary delight in a luxurious environment.
For people seeking the taste of Siquijor, you can try the Habhab Cafe.
Lastly is the Lagoon Restaurant located near the zipline. It’s a place where you can have a feast while looking at Silot Bay.
Tips for Your Visit
The best time to visit the place is during weekdays for fewer crowds. Also, if you’re simply having a stroll and you just simply want to hang out in nature without doing the activities and eating at restaurants, there’s no need to pay for the entrance.
If you want to do some of the outdoor activities, wear comfortable clothes and bring swimming essentials.
This place is our fellow churchmates’ favorite hanging spot for bondings! We don’t need to pay an entrance fee to be able to have a picnic, or play around in the spacious areas in Papa Kit's. It’s simply a paradise for those people who are on a budget.
What are you waiting for? It’s time to add this place on your travel list!
