Hey guys,
This time I'm sharing with you some pictures from one of the most famous amusement parks in Canada, PLAYLAND Vancouver.
Canada’s oldest theme park is located just east of downtown Vancouver, where the Playland Amusement Park has resided since 1910.The park is found on the grounds of the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE). In the last week of August and start of September the PNE’s annual fair takes place, which fills the park to the brim with revellers seeking a rush.
The park is a goldmine of rides, midway games, a haunted house and an arcade, so there are plenty of attractions for visitors to enjoy.
Thrill-seekers should try the hair-raising Hellevator, which shoots riders up a 202-foot vertical tower before free-falling back down. source
Ride you need to go on:
One of the most loved and talked about attractions at Playland is the historic Wooden Roller Coaster. This spectacular coaster has been operating at the park since 1958 and is cited as a “Coaster Classic” by the American Coaster Enthusiasts organization, which is an honour shared by only 22 other wooden coasters in the world. source
It is not often that a theme park ride is famous, but Playland’s signature Wooden Roller-Coaster has been featured in films Final Destination 3 and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days as well as the television series Smallville.
Playland is opened from May to September every year and the park also reopens on October, for the Halloween themed events.
I visited in June and I had so much fun even though I was pregnant at the moment and I couldnt try or ride all these amazing roller coasters.
As of 2018, Playland is home to 39 attractions. Interactive attractions at Playland including a climbing wall, face painting, the Glass House funhouse, and mini golf. Playland also has a haunted house attraction and shooting gallery, although these attractions are not included in the park's admission fee and require an additional fee for entry.
The amusement park also has an arcade and a number of carnival games; including a balloon popping darts game, ring toss, Skee-Ball, and Whac-A-Mole. [Wikipedia source]
THE HOUNTED HOUSE
Playland is BC's most famous amusement park.
We went on a saturday about 12 p.m. and even though it was crowded at the entrace, buying tickets was quick. I thought there's gonna to be a long waiting but I was wrong. They are very organized.
This place is suited for all ages.
The weather was chill, though it was cloudy all day long. I was happy for not having to stay for ages waiting to ride all these funny atracttions. The place is pretty big so the people are spread out all over the place.
This amusement park is a classic, old enough with not so many new attractions so if you like fancy stuff maybe you wont find them in here. I haven't visited other places like this so I can compare it, but I think this is an avarage amusement park.
Anyway, I did have fun! A lot!
There are some food options you can buy to eat. I actually forgot what I had and I didnt take pictures as well. But I do remember I had some popcorn. Classic right? 😅
The price was about 40 CAD for one day, all attractions included exception that few ones being extra paid for.
You can find on Wikipedia a list with all Attractions Names, you can check it out if interested. I spend one hour to identify the ones in my photos so here they are:
Wooden Roller Coaster
You can see it in the distance.
Atmosfere Ride
Westcoast Wheel
I really enjoyed the view from up high!
Balloon Explorers
The Beast
Cool Cruzers
Enterprise
Gladiator
Hellevator
Alien Abduction
I personally didnt try it, but my hubby said it is insane. It makes you really dizzy.
Super Slide
The Pirate Ship
There is a place where people can gather and celebrate birthdays. Also I saw there are some banches available.
I think this place is soo fun if you have someone to spend with in here. The bigger the group the better.
We were 3 couples and we laughed so hard! We had a really good time, being kids again! It felt really cool even though I still have some regrets for not having the chance to try some attractions.
I also dont remember which one was my favorite but I do remember I liked a lot Music Express and Teacups.
Thank you guys for reading, I hope you enjoy my blog!
And if you ever are around Vancouver and wish to have some fun time, this is the place. I truly recommend it.
