This post contains some text and about a dozen photos about my trip last weekend.
For a very long time I had been planning to visit a small city that is located down the river. One of my friends told me that this is a city of unusual merchant houses. They especially liked the different gate designs. They also praised the picturesqueness of the historical center. The city often featured in classical theater plays.
This post will talk about what I liked and what disappointed me.

We reached our destination by car four hours later. The small historical center is built up with typical provincial architecture of the mid-19th century. I would like to note that the architecture has original individual features. The architects used both standard elements and local decor. This produced an original mixture of architectural styles.
The historical center is kept in relative order. But city authorities do not have enough money to maintain historic buildings along the embankment. The residents here are also not rich and can maintain the luxurious facades in their former glory. The city is trying to actively develop tourism. This is already noticeable. Tourists can see information signs and visit the tourism office. I really liked the parks, which have their own theme.

The city certainly has potential. I want to believe that the city will return to its former glory of the 19th century, and we will be able to enjoy its beauty again
