ADVENTURE ON SEPIKUL HILL The Beauty and Myths Behind Twin Hills
Hi travelers, welcome to my blog again..
Some time ago, I decided to explore Sepikul Hill in Sukoharjo. Because my friend house was there, we arranged to meet there directly. We agree to meet around 6 a.m. to avoid the hot sun. When we arrived, it was still very quiet and the morning air felt very fresh.
At the entrance, we did not find an official ticket booth. What we met was only a very friendly welcome from the guard. With smile, he invited us in and told us we only needed to pay what we felt like paying for cleaning. Naturally, we were delighted with this warm welcome. We gave him some money as a thank you.
As we entered, the first sight that greeted us was a flight of stairs. Seeing them made me a little reluctant, but my sense of adventure was much greater hahaha. After taking a deep breath, we began our journey and it turned out the trail wasn't as difficult as I'd imagined... Even though it's uphill, the path is neat and safe for beginner climbers like us. I didn't expect it, it only took about 15 minutes to get to the top...
On the way, something unexpected happened. I saw a monkey sitting relaxed on the side of the path. At first, I couldn't believe it as Sepikul Hill is surrounded by local settlements. But the monkey was real.!! It seemed used to the presence of humans and was not disturbed at all. That experience really added a unique impression to my adventure.
After taking photos with the beautiful scenery, we continued our journey to the top. When you reach the top, all my fatigue disappeared! Although "Sepikul Hill" is only 350 meters, the view from summit is truly extraordinary. From here, I could see vast expanses of green rice fields, peaceful looking villages, and a series of other hills surrounding Sukoharjo.
But what truly captivated me is the two twin hills standing majestically before my eyes. These two hills are iconic and the main attraction of Sepikul Hill. Its unique shape and side by side position make the view here look truly spectacular..!!
These twin hills are not only beautiful, but also hold interesting stories and myths. It's said that the name "Sepikul" comes from an ancient legend believed by local residents.. This myth tells of Bima, one of the Pandawa figures famous for his extraordinary strength.. At that time, Bima was carrying a mountain on his shoulders. However, halfway through, the load slipped and fell. The remnants of the fallen load are what formed the two hills we now know as "Sepikul Hill". This myth adds to its charm and makes the hiking experience more meaningful.
Hiking Sepikul Hill in the morning is indeed the right choice. Besides the cool air and fresh scenery, we could also enjoy the peaceful atmosphere without too many visitors... This experience truly impressed me. Sepikul Hill proves that natural beauty does not always have to be found in high mountains. With its beginner friendly altitude, amazing views, and interesting local stories, Sepikul Hill is a destination that must be tried.
Thank you for reading my blog, and see you in the next post 🔥

Who is Nur Satrio ?
Hi, I'm Tio, a lover of stories, whether written on the pages of a book, presented in adventurous games, or engraved in the incredibly beautiful nature of Indonesia. In my free time, I like to immerse myself in fictional worlds, build small worlds by assembling Gundam models, and explore new places that offer fresh air and soothing views.
For me, life is not about how fast we run, but how much beauty we get to enjoy along the way. I believe that every book has a universe, every journey has a story, and every second we spend in nature is a quiet expression of gratitude that calms the heart.
