Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are well. Recently, I visited a mosque at the largest university in Indonesia, namely the University of Indonesia, which is located in Salemba. This university has two locations, namely in Depok and in Salemba. Well, I want to visit a mosque located around UI Salemba.
It turns out that this mosque has a very long history, where this mosque is named the Attauhid Arif Rahman Hakim Campus Mosque, University of Indonesia, where the name Arif Rahman Hakim was taken from one of the mosques that was destroyed during the 1966 clash. Arif Rahman Hakim was a medical student at the University of Indonesia.

In 1966 there was a massive demonstration in Indonesia, between students and the government. Well, one of the University of Indonesia students who died was Arif Rahman Hakim. The University of Indonesia built this mosque for religious activities as well as to remember the students who died.
Well, actually this mosque is very large, but the building is not like a mosque in general. In fact, this mosque has a unique architectural value, where this mosque does not face the Kaaba, and this mosque has a fortified upper structure without columns, which is about 40 meters long. This mosque is considered a modern mosque. There is no dome in mosques in general.

Of course, this mosque is also the campus mosque with the oldest age. In 2005-2007, this mosque was renovated and even added several other buildings. The Arif Rahman Hakim Mosque is often an Islamic agenda for University of Indonesia students in Jakarta.
In addition, this mosque is also currently often used as a wedding reception venue for several people. This mosque has two floors, but for religious activities it is carried out on the second floor. The place is quite spacious, but when I entered, unfortunately it was a little unkempt. This is also a little sad.
For the first part, of course this is a place for community activities. and this place is also free to be lent to the community. And outside the campus there are a number of food stalls. Maybe that's all I can tell you. What do you think about this place? See you in the next story.
