Hello everyone. How are you? I hope you are doing well. Recently, I visited the Indonesian Postal Museum. Well, near the building there is a very magnificent heritage building. It turns out that the building is the head office of Pos Indonesia. It turns out, the head office of Pos Indonesia is in Bandung. I didn't realize it.
The building is magnificent and unique. It's cool too. There is a post office and I saw a number of people sending packages. One of the unique and historic buildings owned by Pos I have told in the previous post.
Well, the building I told is a complement to my story about Pos Indonesia. Oh, I forgot, there is one more building, located in Surabaya. Hopefully, I can visit it. This year? Or next year. Hopefully.
I have told you that Pos Indonesia has the name Gedung Pos Telepon dan Telegraf. This building is in the Cilaki area, very close to Gedung Sate. If it's my building, I've been there, several times. I want to tell you about this place, the place I visited, the Head Office of Pos Indonesia.
When I visited, everyone was busy working. I felt comfortable working in this room. In a comfortable co-working space setting. I want to tell you that the building was built in 1920 by the eldest daughter of the Mayor of Bandung, Johanna Catherine. So, when did this building open?
This building opened in 1931. Who designed this building? This building was built by Dutch architects, of course, J. Berger and Leutdsgeboulwdienst. Reportedly, from the information I got, this building forms a 45-degree angle to the building I mentioned at the beginning, Gedung Sate.
Oh yes, this building is very historic. Because this building was once fought over by Japan and the Netherlands. To be precise, during World War II. Japan lost World War II. A number of young people who became the forerunners of Pos Indonesia were determined that this building would be owned by Indonesia. After Indonesia's independence, Indonesia finally owned this building.
The names of those who fought for this building are embedded in the museum and this building. That's the only story I can tell. What do you think? At a glance from what I feel, this building is similar to a number of buildings that I have encountered in Jakarta.
It has pillars in the front. The building is very tall and magnificent. The architecture of this building is truly a Dutch heritage. I feel like I want to have an office here. That's all I can tell, see you in the next story.
