Hello everyone, is everything okay? I hope you're okay. I want to write about one of the museums in Bandung. Call it the place, the Geological Museum. Oh right, this photo I got from my friend. He is a photographer. I am a journalist. So, I don't need to take pictures. I haven't been to this museum in a long time.
At 2017, I visited this museum, when I was a journalist. I often visited this place. There is a lot of new information every month. I want a little story from the museum I've been to. This museum is one of the tourist and historical places in Bandung. The museum was founded in 1928

At that time, Indonesia was still under Dutch colonial rule. Later, the Japanese government carried out renovations in several parts. The building has survived to this day. This museum building is a Dutch heritage building. So, there are many parts that characterize the ancient building.
However, in 2000 the museum was opened to the public. After being renovated by the Indonesian government. Almost every week, there are students who visit. Apart from history, there are other benefits for students. So, what are the museum collections?

Almost every year there are new discoveries stored in museums. Like the findings of ancient animal skeletons. Of course, in the museum there are ancient fossils, rocks and minerals. In addition, visitors get important lessons about natural science. One of them studies natural disasters, such as floods, landslides and tsunamis. In fact, students can learn about the benefits of natural resources, processing energy and others related to the Earth.
The museum is divided into two floors. On the first floor, you can find geological activity on the big screen. And, there are information services and education and research about this museum. In that section, the room is very attractive to visitors. Visitors can see ancient human fossils, various types of rocks, mineral resources and equipment for research. In this room is the evolutionary history of Darwin's theory. Is there anything else?

In addition, there are ancient human skulls, ancient human artifacts, and so on. Everything seems to tell the development of human culture all the time. There are fish and snake fossils in Bandung's Ancient Lake. Bandung is one of the places where many ancient human fossils are stored. In this section, visitors can study the process of formation of fossils, coal, and oil.
I've been talking about when this place can be visited. Every day, it only receives 200 visitors. Before the pandemic, this visitor could reach 3000 people. Too much, right? Every weekend, the number of visitors will increase by 50 percent. If the school holidays, the number of visitors will also increase.

There is a new rule in this place, this place only accepts visitors from the Bandung area. Outside of that city, it doesn't seem welcome. In fact, visitors need to make a reservation in advance to visit this place. Quite a few rules, right? Then, when is the time to visit this place?

This place is closed on Mondays and Fridays. In fact, on national holidays this place will be closed. I got information that this place has been renovated. I listened to this information. Reportedly, living history is being renovated by the manager. There have been changes to the interior and arrangement of the collection. In fact, there is an animated video feed. I want to visit this place.
According to my friend, there are additional collections in this museum, there are fossils of deer pigs from Sulawesi and elephants from Flores. And there's a new rock collection. However, my friend did not tell me what kind of stone is in the collection of this museum. During the pandemic, there are temperature checks at the front door. For children, it can only be at least 12 years old. For the record, children have received the vaccine. This museum is located at Jalan Diponego 57, Bandung. The location of this museum is in the middle of the city, so it is easily accessible by the public.
