Hello travelers of the world, while looking for new destinations to visit in other states of my country Venezuela, I have been doing some local tourism in my beautiful and beloved Maracaibo, this time I was visiting the Plazoleta del Rosario de Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá.
This square was inaugurated in 2004 and is located in the historic center of the city of Maracaibo right in the middle of two important churches for the catholic parishioners, one of them is the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá and the Iglesia de Santa Barbara both with imposing architectures and that I have already shown them in previous occasions.
In a walk through the same I did the tour from the end of the square to the beginning, in this sense we first met with a monument of the Patron Saint of Maracaibo, San Sebastian who died with arrows, which is why he is observed with arrows on a tree, he is honored in our city because he is rewarded favors for the health of the Marabinos before a strong epidemic of chickenpox that was many years ago.
Huge planters are found all over the place, with benches to sit and paths of trees with abundant leaves before reaching the main monument which has an arch supported by plaster columns in the background, inside them some fountains and other details such as the way of the cross in its structure and angels around it, some doves were perched on this structure.
Then there was the huge monument in honor of our patron saint La Chinita, I don't know exactly how tall it is, but I do know that it is full of angels around her and at her feet is María Cárdenas, who was the Marabina who discovered the image of the Virgin when her little board was illuminated, as the story goes.
A huge fountains lead to the beginning of the square with bushes around it, from a more distant view you can see in the background the monument and all the trees that provide shade on the benches to those who come to enjoy the place, This day the weather was quite favorable because it was cloudy and not the strong sun that we usually have in Maracaibo, so I could stop for a while to thank and also feel fortunate to have spaces like this in my city and also make me feel a huge sense of belonging to the soil where I was born.

Hola viajeros del mundo, mientras busco destinos nuevos para visitar en otros estados de mi país Venezuela, he estado haciendo un poco de turismo local en mi bella y amada Maracaibo, en ésta oportunidad estuve visitando la Plazoleta del Rosario de Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá.
Está plaza fue ignagurada en el año 2004 y se encuentra ubicada en el casco histórico de la ciudad de Maracaibo justo en medio de dos iglesias importantes para los feligreses católicos una de ellas es la Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá y la Iglesia de Santa Bárbara ambas con imponentes arquitecturas y que ya los he mostrado en anteriores ocasiones.
En un paseo por la misma hice el recorrido desde el final de la plazoleta hasta el inicio, en este sentido nos encontramos primero con un monumento del Patrono de Maracaibo, San Sebastián quién murió a flechazos, razón por la cuál se le observa con flechas sobre un árbol, se le rinde homenaje en nuestra ciudad porque se le retribuyen favores por la sanidad de los Marabinos ante una fuerte epidemia de Varicela que hubo hace muchos años.
Enormes jardineras se encuentran por todo el lugar, con bancas para sentarse además caminos de árboles con abundantes hojas antes de llegar al monumento principal el cuál tiene de fondo un arco sostenido con columnas en yeso, dentro de ellas algunas fuentes y otros detalles como el vía crucis en su estructura y ángeles a su alrededor, algunas palomas estaban posadas sobre ésta estructura.
Luego estaba el enorme monumento en honor a nuestra patrona la Chinita con exactitud no se cuanta altura posee, pero si se que se encuentra llena de ángeles a su alrededor y sus pies se encuentra María Cárdenas quién fue la marabina que descubrió la imagen de la Virgen cuando su tablita se iluminaba cuenta la historia.
Unas enormes fuentes conducen hacia el inició de la plaza con arbustos a su alrededor, desde una vista más alejada puede verse de fondo el monumento y todos los árboles que aportan sombra en las bancas a quiénes vienen a disfrutar del lugar, este día el clima nos favoreció bastante porque estaba nublado y no el fuerte sol que acostumbramos a tener en Maracaibo, así que pude detenerme un rato a agradecer y además sentirme afortunada de poder contar con espacios como este en mi ciudad y que además me hacen sentir con un enorme sentido de pertenencia por el suelo en donde nací.
