Hello blog friends, here I am again with one of my trips. I had already visited part of this reserve, but for the Ferragosto holiday (in Italy we celebrate a holiday dedicated to the Madonna on August 15th, where no one works), my husband and I treated ourselves to a two-day trip to better explore this huge nature reserve that winds between the mountain towns of Pistoia and Prato. We had in fact promised ourselves that we would visit it more extensively because it contains hectares and hectares of woodland, and for those of us who love nature, it is a true paradise. There are so many woods, rivers, and paths to explore that you can't see them all in half a day, so we took more days. This time we took an alternative route to the usual one, a road that passes through Tobbiana, a town I visit often because my mother-in-law lives there and it is connected to the road that leads to the reserve. Unfortunately, the road is a bit bumpy and difficult to drive on, but luckily my husband has a jeep and no road scares us. The road is surrounded by lots of cool forests, and as soon as you start climbing the road the temperature drops.
Hola amigos del blog, aquí estoy de nuevo con uno de mis viajes. Ya había visitado parte de esta reserva, pero para las vacaciones de Ferragosto (en Italia celebramos una festividad dedicada a la Virgen el 15 de agosto, cuando nadie trabaja), mi marido y yo nos regalamos una excursión de dos días para explorar mejor esta enorme reserva natural que serpentea entre los pueblos montañosos de Pistoia y Prato. De hecho, nos habíamos prometido visitarla más extensamente, ya que contiene hectáreas y hectáreas de bosque, y para los amantes de la naturaleza, es un verdadero paraíso. Hay tantos bosques, ríos y senderos por explorar que no se pueden ver todos en medio día, así que decidimos tomarnos más días. Esta vez tomamos una ruta alternativa a la habitual, una carretera que pasa por Tobbiana, un pueblo que visito a menudo porque mi suegra vive allí y está conectada con la carretera que lleva a la reserva. Por desgracia, el camino es un poco accidentado y difícil de conducir, pero por suerte mi marido tiene un jeep y ninguna carretera nos asusta. El camino está rodeado de muchos bosques frescos, y tan pronto como comienzas a subir la temperatura baja.
The panoramic view of the surrounding mountains is beautiful, especially when the weather is good, and we were lucky. We enjoyed some stunning mountain views. Then we made our first stop at the fountain. This fountain is located near a popular picnic spot, and the fountain is also famous. People traveling through these parts always stop here to get the good, fresh water that comes directly from the spring, and so we did, refilling our bottles with good water. Here we also found some really impressive piles of logs. They were a bit scary, but that happens often here because it's also a logging area, and at this time of year they start preparing firewood for the winter. I obviously took the opportunity to take a selfie with the logs, after which we continued along another winding road through the pine and chestnut forest, heading towards a section of the river that I'll tell you about in the next post. I hope you enjoy the view of the mountains and the fountain. The mountain is truly a magnificent place, in my opinion.
La vista panorámica de las montañas circundantes es preciosa, sobre todo cuando hace buen tiempo, y tuvimos suerte. Disfrutamos de unas vistas impresionantes de las montañas. Después hicimos nuestra primera parada en la fuente. Esta fuente está cerca de un popular lugar de picnic y también es famosa. La gente que viaja por aquí siempre para aquí para conseguir el agua fresca y de calidad que viene directamente del manantial, y así lo hicimos, rellenando nuestras botellas con agua de buena calidad. Aquí también encontramos unas pilas de troncos realmente impresionantes. Daban un poco de miedo, pero es algo que suele pasar aquí porque también es una zona de tala, y en esta época del año empiezan a preparar leña para el invierno. Aproveché la oportunidad para hacerme un selfie con los troncos, tras lo cual continuamos por otro camino sinuoso a través del bosque de pinos y castaños, en dirección a un tramo del río del que os hablaré en la próxima entrada. Espero que disfrutéis de la vista de las montañas y de la fuente. La montaña es un lugar realmente magnífico, en mi opinión.
