I had a trip of few days in another lovely city of my favourite region, Tuscany, I visited the lovely city of Barga in the province of Lucca.
Barga is situated in the middle of the Tuscanian mountains in the Garfagnana area, the first step of our visit was the amazing cathedral of Saint Christopher an amazing place full of spirituality and calm situated in the highest part of the town you must walk a bit for seeing it, it's surrounded by a big garden full of daisies that makes the place even more heavenly.
From the cathedral, well from the terrace of the cathedral you can see all the town downside and also other nearest towns.
The external part of the cathedral is made of albanese rocks typical of the Barga area with a grey white colour, less expensive than the marble, the two lions on the main gate means strength and faith and there are some scenes that represent some working days in the the vineyard. It have also a bell tower with two bells. Still active.
The inner side of the cathedral have the famous pulpit of Guidarelli , he made amazing sculptures in the past, the inner side is less rich than the external but really charming, you can admire the frescoes and the sculptures and refresh from the sun, you can also light some part of the cathedral with special lights at two euro price, we don't use it because it was full day and there was enough light.
It's really a silent and big cathedral you can breath peace there.
It was a really cool visit we really enjoyed this place and the weather was good too so it makes our visit more enjoyable.
