Happy Saturday, hive friends, how are you? Here I am, taking you on the second part of my September trip to the suspended lake. In the first part, I showed you the beautiful mountain roads that lead to this place. As soon as we arrived, we immediately saw the bridge above us, from which the lake also takes its name. The suspended bridge is a 230-meter bridge that connects Mammiano to Popiglio. In the early 1900s, workers and students used it to reach from one side of the mountain to the other. Back then, it was made of ropes and wooden planks, a real nightmare for those afraid of heights. Today, it's made of steel, but you can still see everything underneath. In fact, I won't go up there because I'm so scared! The bridge is 40 meters high, and this place is sadly also known for the numerous suicides that have occurred on it. After the bridge we headed to the lake, which unfortunately was already closed for the season. It's a small, man-made, and delightful lake where you can fish, stop to rest, or have a picnic. It's very clean and beautiful to look at, surrounded by the greenery of the mountains.

En la primera parte, les mostré los hermosos caminos de montaña que llevan a este lugar. Nada más llegar, vimos enseguida el puente sobre nosotros, de donde el lago toma su nombre. El puente suspendido es un puente de 230 metros que conecta Mammiano con Popiglio. A principios del siglo XX, obreros y estudiantes lo usaban para ir de un lado a otro de la montaña. Luckily, the refuge was open, so we immediately went there for a coffee and some snacks while waiting to go to the part of the forest dedicated to the barbecues. I loved the refuge, it's a typical mountain refuge, all in wood, surrounded by some statues and a beautiful well decorated with flowers, with a small wooden veranda overlooking the lake. The interior is truly welcoming, with wooden furniture, rustic decor, and two hunting dogs roaming freely. For me, as a dog lover, it was a very nice experience. They were really sociable and welcomed us to pet them. There was a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, and the ceiling lamps were made of deer antlers, a truly comfortable and pleasant place. Then we went to a smaller section of forest just before the picnic area. Here, there's a wooden structure with several large wooden tables for those who want to use them. There are obviously a few more scattered throughout this forest of tall trees. It's a shady but magnificent place for nature lovers, very well-kept and equipped for picnics. Por suerte, el refugio estaba abierto, así que fuimos inmediatamente a tomar un café y picar algo mientras esperábamos para ir a la zona del bosque dedicada a las barbacoas. Me encantó el refugio; es un típico refugio de montaña, todo de madera, rodeado de estatuas y un precioso pozo decorado con flores, con una pequeña terraza de madera con vistas al lago. El interior es realmente acogedor, con muebles de madera, decoración rústica y dos perros de caza sueltos. Para mí, como amante de los perros, fue una experiencia muy agradable. Fueron muy sociables y nos invitaron a acariciarlos. Había una amplia selección de bebidas alcohólicas, y las lámparas del techo eran de astas de ciervo; un lugar realmente cómodo y agradable. Luego fuimos a una zona más pequeña del bosque justo antes de la zona de picnic. Allí hay una estructura de madera con varias mesas grandes para quienes quieran usarlas. Obviamente, hay algunas más repartidas por este bosque de altos árboles. Es un lugar sombreado pero magnífico para los amantes de la naturaleza, muy bien cuidado y equipado para picnics.
