Hello friends! I'm finally able to write something here, a break of more than 1 week really made me miss this place. We came to Oslo last week and we are having a great time here, I have prepared some content for you that I think you will enjoy reading and I will share them with you as I have time. First of all, I wanted to show you the city of Oslo and talk about it. Let's start if you are ready.
Night in Oslo
Previously I showed you the small towns of Norway which are not so crowded. This time we are going to visit Oslo, the capital city, which is really crowded compared to the areas where we live and life goes very fast here, you can see someone outside every single hour. It seems strange to us because if you follow us closely you know that there are 5000 people in the area where we live. In this post, I will show you Oslo with the photos I took both in the night and during the day, and I wanted to start with the statue photo you see above. It excites me to see such architecturally beautiful buildings in the city center. It also attracted my attention that there are so many sculptures all over the city. In this sense, I will prepare a separate post covering only the sculptures in Oslo.
The streets were very bright and colorful even though it was night because Christmas was coming. You can see Christmas decorations on almost every building.
This majestic church is Oslo's most famous church. It is a historic cathedral in the center of Oslo, the capital of Norway. When we saw this place, we wanted to visit it early tomorrow morning. The church is built in gothic style, and when I did some research about it, I found out that it suffered a big fire in the 17th century and then it was restored to its present appearance. The cathedral, which is one of the important symbols of Oslo, has a great importance both religiously and historically, and I will definitely visit it tomorrow.
Morning in Oslo
After settling in our hotel, we had a good rest to relieve our tiredness and woke up early in the morning to see Oslo in the daytime and went out immediately after breakfast. Luckily, as you can see in the photo, it was sunny.
The city is so architecturally stunning that it is possible to see a building on every corner that you want to take a photo of.
I really liked the photo of the crosswalk on the top right and I said to Eren to take a photo of me so that I wouldn't miss this beautiful view.
We saw another very spectacular church and we wanted to visit it, but the door was closed and we couldn't go inside. I liked the view from the outside, I am sure you will like this photo very much.
This is a building used for Ukrainian refugees who fled the war and took refuge in Norway. When Ukrainians come to Norway, they stay here for the first 1-2 months and then they move to their new address after the kommune and address where they will live is determined, they live here for 1-2 months. When I came to Norway because of the war, I stayed in such a place in Porsgrunn for 1.5 months and then I moved to my new address in Kvinesdal.
This is the main street of Oslo, where the tram passes through a lot.
Great view of a beautiful hotel from the outside
This building is a cafe and it looks very cute from the outside. We didn't have a chance to go inside and take a break because we decided to spend most of our time to exploring Oslo, but I'm sure the inside is as beautiful as the outside.
I don't think the Ministry of Defense building looks extra grand compared to other ordinary buildings in the city, but it is still a very grand architecture.
Oslo city hall. In front of the city hall there is a beautiful park with many beautiful sculptures. As I said, I will show you the sculptures here in another post.
Another beautiful hotel in Oslo and the sight of it fascinated us.
The entrance of the church I photographed at night, we had the opportunity to visit this place and a detailed post will be coming soon.
The garden of a bank building in Norway, in the middle of winter, I wanted to add this peaceful image that resembles the autumn.
We have come to my favorite part, the Advent calender culture. I would like to tell you briefly what it is. The Advent calendar is a calendar in the Catholic tradition that marks the four weeks leading up to Christmas, and each day a window opens to reveal chocolates, small gifts or texts. Each window is a symbol for Christians to count down the days in preparation for Christmas and to share spiritual meanings. This building is also decorated according to the Advent calender concept.
Lastly, I would like to say goodbye to you with the horses we saw in Oslo. We will stay in Oslo for a few days and I will prepare great posts for you. I enjoy reading your comments, thank you for taking your time to read my post. See you on our next Oslo adventure, Bye !
