This summer, on a tour of a medieval castle, I love old archetypes from former times, they are somehow unusual and not even similar to today's modern architectures that are attractive today.
The ramparts of these buildings are wide, large and each castle has its own legend and rich history, and the walls that surround it keep the secrets of the castle.
The Vršac Tower is a building that was built in the 15th century, the remains of which rise to a height of 399 meters above sea level, which is one of the highest points of the city of Vršac and also a symbol of the city.
You can reach a certain point by car, but then a ramp is set up, so you have to walk uphill, the road is paved and stable for a nice walk through the forest that surrounds it.
The road paves it to the castle, but we passed through a grove decorated with various meadow flowers and insects that fly from flower to flower.
We took a leisurely walk through the woods that provided shade in these hot summer days and reached the medieval castle.
Something about the legend hidden in the castle walls:
since no one lives in the castle, people and reality have given way to the legend that says: Instead of military crews that should be in this place and defend themselves from the enemy in ancient times, behind these large and strong walls was a princess imprisoned, which they once enchanted and turned into a snake.
According to the legend, it is recognized by the small crown on its head and appears every hundred years, exactly at midnight. No one has yet managed to free her from evil deeds.
I have to admit that this legend about the enchanted princess is very fabulous, just like in the fairy tales my grandmother used to tell me.
THE TRUTH ABOUT THE CASTLE:
The remains of the still well-preserved castle were built by despot Djuradj Smederevac, after the fall of Smederevo he retreated to Banat and built the castle on the highest peak surrounded by a plain, in order to defend himself from the enemy.
From this height you can see the beautiful plain that surrounds the castle.
And on the other side you can see the city that stretches under the castle.
The legend still lives in retelling from generation to generation, but the historical significance of this castle, which has stood for centuries, is reminiscent of the past of a long time ago.
