Last 2 weeks i went to Butuan to see my relatives been so long since we met! We just stayed at their house eat lots of good food and told old stories. After a few days we said “let’s go somewhere fun!” Someone said Lakwatsero Resort is nice so we booked a night there.
The drive was easy left the busy city then we saw rice fields and coconut trees all around. The resort looks nice from far with big signs and lots of space to park cars. The place is really big not just a small spot with a pool you can walk around a lot.
The people there were friendly they helped us get our room fast. Our cottage was simple but good beds are clean AC is cold and windows open to fresh air. We put our bags down and ran outside to look around.
There are so many places to hang out! Near the pool there are big covered areas with long tables. Perfect for groups to eat or play games. Some have grills too so people can cook their own food. When we got there other families were already there laughing and cooking.
Walk a bit more and there are spots under mango trees with hammocks and chairs. Good if you want to lie down read, or sleep a little. My aunt sat there for one whole hour and did not move!
You can walk around and explore too. There’s a small pond where you can fish they let you borrow sticks to use. The kids loved it even if they only caught small ones and let them go.
At the back there’s a small path going into some trees. It’s not long or scary. They put signs to tell you what plants you see. My cousin said when it’s not raining you can see fireflies at night we wish we knew that before!
When it got dark we all sat at one of the covered spots for dinner. The resort has a small store that serves Pinoy food adobo sinigang grilled fish. Everything tastes fresh. We drank cold soda and talked as lights turned on all over the place.
After eating some of us played volleyball with other guests on their court. Me and my cousins sat by the pool and listened to a guy play guitar he comes every weekend and sings old songs we know. It felt like a small party.
We woke up really early because my uncle wanted to see the sun come up. There’s a small place near the gate where you can look out at the fields. The sky was orange and pink it looked so nice. We drank hot coffee and watched farmers start working.
Before we left we all went swimming in the pool. It’s clean and has a shallow part for kids. We also saw their small playground perfect for families with little ones.
Our night there was really great not just a change of place but we had fun with family. So many spots to hang out and look around something for everyone. We already said we will go back soon next time with more of our relatives!
