There is no region in South America where the devil would not leave his mark. Throats, noses, teeth, horns, just half the tourist attractions on this continent have some devilish body part in their name. So is this devil's waterfall near Baños in Ecuador. Despite the fact that it is not one of the highest or the ones with the highest flow, it is still impressive, because you can approach it literally at your fingertips, and even walk behind it. A quite nice tourist attraction, but compared to what the area offers, it is boring.
For the last 3 days, we've been traversing Ecuador along the Avenue of Volcanoes step by step. Once on the right and once on the left, we will pass each of almost 30 volcanic cones. So far, such interesting facts are behind us:
🌋 Sangay 5280m volcano - looks like a geometrically drawn cone growing out of the Amazon jungle,
🌋 Volcano El Altar 5319m - also a geometrically drawn cone, but with a strangely torn top and a picturesque amarilla lagoon inside,
🌋 Chimborazo volcano 6268m - the farthest point from the center of the earth. (Everest is taller, but since the ground is not a perfect ball, it is a bit like a slightly flattened ball, it is from this top that it is farthest to the geometric center of the earth),
🌋 Volcano Charichuarazo 5018m - which only spoils the view of the Chimborazo volcano,
🌋 Tungurahua 5023m volcano - the favorite of tourists, which was activated several years ago, erupted cruelly and is still active, occasionally giving off a little smoke. We spent the last two days at the foot of this volcano, but unfortunately we were forced to settle for down-to-earth attractions such as this devilish waterfall, because when we wanted to look up towards the volcano, we could only see clouds ... Unfortunately, we have not seen any of these volcanoes yet, because all of them are they hid from us in the clouds. Maybe it is a robber law of nature and there is always the rainy season in Ecuador in February, or maybe my mother, having learned that we had already bought return tickets, stopped praying for good weather (which was very favorable to us so far) and began to ask for a happy return home .
It's a pity, but we are going further north of Ecuador, where we still have 20 volcanoes waiting for us.

W Ameryce Południowej nie ma regionu, w którym diabeł nie pozostawiłby po sobie śladów. Gardła, nosy, zęby, rogi, po prostu połowa atrakcji turystycznych na tym kontynencie ma jakąś diabelską część ciała w nazwie. Tak samo jak ten diabelski wodospad koło miejscowości Baños w Ekwadorze. Pomimo, że nie należy ani do najwyższych, ani do tych z największym przepływem, to i tak robi wrażenie, dlatego że można do niego podejść dosłownie na wyciągnięcie ręki, a nawet wejść za niego. Atrakcja turystyczna całkiem fajna, ale w porównaniu do tego co oferuje okolica to jednak nuda.
Od 3 dni krok po kroku przemierzamy Ekwador wzdłuż Alei Wulkanów. Raz po prawej, raz po lewej stronie miniemy każdy z niemal 30 stożków wulkanicznych. Do tej pory za nami zostały takie ciekawostki jak:
🌋 Wulkan Sangay 5280m - wygląda jak geometrycznie wyrysowany stożek wyrastający z amazońskiej dżungli,
🌋 Wulkan El Altar 5319m - również geometrycznie wyrysowany stożek, ale z dziwnie rozerwanym wierzchołkiem oraz z malowniczą laguną amarilla wewnątrz,
🌋 Wulkan Chimborazo 6268m - najbardziej oddalnoy punkt od środka ziemi. (Everest jest wyższy, ale ponieważ ziemia nie jest idealną kulą tylko jest trochę jak lekko spłaszczona piłka to właśnie z tego szczytu jest najdalej do geometrycznego środka ziemi),
🌋 Wulkan Charichuarazo 5018m - który tylko psuje widok na wulkan Chimborazo,
🌋 Wulkan Tungurahua 5023m - ulubieniec turystów, który uaktywnił się kilkanaście lat temu, wybuchł okrutnie i nadal pozostaje aktywny, od czasu do czasu puszczając trochę dymu. Właśnie u podnóża tego wulkanu spędziliśmy ostatnie dwa dni, ale niestety zmuszeni byliśmy zadowolić się przyziemnymi atrakcjami takimi jak ten diabelski wodospad, bo chcąc spojrzeć w górę w stronę wulkanu mogliśmy zobaczyć tylko chmury... Niestety nie widzieliśmy jeszcze żadnego z tych wulkanów, bo wszystkie schowały się przed nami w chmurach. Może to zbójeckie prawo natury i zawsze w lutym w Ekwadorze trwa pora deszczowa, a może mama dowiedziawszy się, że już kupiliśmy bilety powrotne przestała się modlić o dobrą pogodę (która do tej pory nam bardzo sprzyjała), a zaczęła prosić o szczęśliwy powrót do domu.
Trochę szkoda, ale jedziemy dalej na północ Ekwadoru, gdzie czeka na nas jeszcze z 20 wulkanów.
