A beautiful city with Duden Waterfall and Kaleiçi-Let's visit Antal...

I am here with the second Antalya post. In this post, I will tell you about two places. One of them is Düden Waterfall, which is a natural wonder, and the second is the Kaleiçi region in the centre of Antalya.

If you remember, in the previous post, I said that I went to Antalya for a business trip. I work in a textile company. There was a textile fair in Antalya and we decided to participate in that fair as a company. We stayed in Antalya for about a week with a team of 5 people. We tried to explore Antalya during our time outside the fair. First, we decided to go to Düden Waterfall because it was close to our hotel and we heard a lot about it.

İkinci Antalya paylaşımı ile karşınızdayım. Bu paylaşımda size iki yerden bahsedeceğim. Bunlardan biri doğa harikası olan Düden Şelalesi ikincisi ise Antalya'nın merkezinde bulunan Kaleiçi bölgesi.

Hatırlarsanız önceki postta Antalya'ya bir iş gezisi için gittiğimi söylemiştim. Ben bir tekstil firmasında çalışıyorum. Antalya'da tekstil fuarı vardı ve biz de firma olarak o fuara katılma kararı aldık. 5 kişilik bir ekiple yaklaşık bir hafta Antalya'da kaldık. Fuar dışındaki zamanlarımızda Antalya'yı keşfetmeye çalıştık. İlk olarak Düden Şelalesi'ne gitmeye karar verdik çünkü hem otelimize yakındı hem de burası hakkında çok şey duyduk.

Duden Waterfall

When we went to the area where the waterfall was, we were faced with a natural wonder. The waterfall was spread over a huge area. I thought I would only see water flowing from a high place, but I realised I was wrong.

Düden Şelalesi

Şelalenin olduğu alana gittiğimizde bir doğa harikası ile karşı karşıyaydık. Şelale kocaman bir alana yayılmıştı. Ben yalnızca yüksek bir yerden akan bir su göreceğimi düşündüm ancak yanıldığı anladım.

At the first entrance, we were greeted by a few camels and a "Welcome" sign. You can ride a camel and take photos but you have to pay a small fee for this. Then we walked towards the areas with resting areas and cafes. The water was flowing down in a stream bed. As we progressed, the flow rate of the water started to increase.

İlk girişte bizi birkaç deve ve "Hoşgeldiniz" yazısı karşıladı. Deveye binip fotoğraf çekebiliyorsunuz ancak bunun için ufak bir ödeme yapmanız gerekiyor. Daha sonra dinlenme alanları ve kafelerin olduğu alanlara doğru yürüdük. Su bir dere yatağında aşağı doğru akıyordu. İlerledikçe suyun akış hızı artmaya başladı.

Normally it is very hot in Antalya in summer. Fortunately we were there in March and the weather was good. So there was no sweltering weather. We took advantage of this weather and continued to walk slowly. My astonishment was increasing with every step I took. I took a lot of photos, but I didn't want to waste time taking photos. I wanted to savour every moment I saw. I'm sure looking at the photos reflects a positive energy on you too.

Normalde yaz aylarında Antalya'da hava çok sıcak olur. Neyse ki biz Mart ayında oradaydık ve hava güzeldi. Yani bunaltıcı bir hava yoktu. Biz de bu havadan yararlanıp yavaş yavaş yürümeye devam ettik. Attığım her adımda şaşkınlığım artıyordu. Bir sürü fotoğraf çektim ancak fotoğraf çekerek vakit kaybetmek istemiyordum. Gördüğüm her anın tadını çıkarmak istiyordum. Eminim fotoğraflara bakınca size de pozitif bir enerji yansıyordur.

Look at the harmony of green and blue. I love the colour of the water. I think it's wrong to call it blue. The colour "aqua green" really exists, as you can clearly see in the photo below.

Yeşilin ve mavinin uyumuna bakar mısınız. Suyun rengine bayıldım. Mavi demek yanlış olur bence. "Su yeşili" rengi gerçekten varmış, aşağıdaki fotoğrafta açıkça görülüyor.

And the waterfall started to appear. I could sit for hours in front of this natural beauty. Since our time was limited, we had to walk all the time. I noted this place in my diary. Later, when I come here for holiday, I will sit here for hours and watch this view.

Ve Şelale görünmeye başladı. Bu doğal güzelliğin karşısında saatlerce oturabilirdim. Vaktimiz sınırlı olduğu için sürekli yürümek zorunda kaldık. Burayı ajandama not ettim. Daha sonra tatil için buraya geldiğimde burada saatlerce oturup bu manzarayı seyredeceğim.

As we were walking towards the waterfall, we were passing by caves. Some of these caves were the natural habitat of bats. Since it was daytime, I didn't see any bats but I could hear their sounds.

Şelaleyi doğru yürürken mağaraların yanından geçiyorduk. Bu mağaraların bir kısmı yarasaların doğal yaşama alanıymış. Gündüz olduğu için yarasa görmedim ancak seslerini duyabiliyordum.

This is our team. We were tired but happy. We forgot all our tiredness in front of this natural wonder. The time here was so good that we even forgot that we were fasting :)

Bu da bizim ekip. Yorgunduk ama mutluyduk. Bu doğa harikası karşısında tüm yorgunluğumuzu unuttuk. Burada vakit öyle güzel geçti ki oruç olduğumuzu bile unuttuk :)

We walked to the back of that marvellous waterfall you see below. If you think about meditating, definitely try to go to a waterfall. The sound of the water relaxes you.

Aşağıda görmüş olduğunuz o muhteşem şelalenin arkasına kadar yürüdük. Eğer meditasyon yapmayı düşünürseniz kesinlikle bir şelaleye gitmeyi deneyin. Suyun sesi insanı dinlendiriyor.

This is a view from the top of the waterfall. It is a wonder of nature. I would like everyone who comes to Antalya on holiday to see this place.

Bu da şelalenin üstünden bir manzara. Tam bir doğa harikası. Antalya'ya tatile gelen herkesin burayı görmesini isterim.

Look, here I am behind the waterfall. It was beautiful in every way.

Since this is a Mediterranean city, olives are grown in this region. Olive is the most important agricultural product here. Its history dates back to ancient times. In the photo below, there are historical artefacts used to make olives ready for consumption in ancient times.

Burası Akdeniz şehri olduğu için haliyle bu bölgede zeytin yetişiyor. Zeytin buranın en önemli tarım ürünüdür. Tarihi çok eskilere dayanır. Aşağıdaki fotoğrafta da eski zamanlarda zeytinlerin tüketime hazır hale getirilmesinde kullanılan tarihi eserler var.

Kaleici

Now I would like to tell you about Kaleiçi neighbourhood. According to the information shared on the Antalya Governorship [web page] (http://www.antalya.gov.tr/kaleici), Kaleiçi is surrounded by the sea, main streets and walls, some of which are still standing today. Thanks to these walls, the buildings in Kaleiçi have survived to the present day.

Şimdi de size Kaleiçi semtinden bahsetmek istiyorum. Antalya Valiliği web sayfasında paylaşılan bilgiye göre Kaleiçi, deniz, ana caddeler ve günümüzde de bir kısmı ayakta olan surlarla çevrilidir. Bu surlar sayesinde Kaleiçi'nde bulunan yapılar korunarak günümüze ulaşmıştır.

I took photos of every street I passed, every boutique hotel or shop. Especially if I want to have a one-week holiday, I will stay in one of the boutique hotels here.
