This is another place few Hivers will ever travel to.
Indeed, if enough Hivers exist on this earth, such an obscure place will be full of Pinmapple's pin!
Took a drive off the beaten track while travelling to Batu Pahat in Malaysia to visit the Minyak Beku Beach (Pantai Minyak Beku). This beach has a well-known historical site called the Batu Pahat Well, located near the mouth of the river.
According to the sign, the history of this well can be traced back to the time of Sultan Mansur Syah, Sultan of Malacca, when it was dug by fleeing Siamese troops after they failed their attack on Malacca in the 1400s!.
In the process, Batu Pahat (or “chiselled stone”) got its name from this incident, whereby the Siamese soldiers chiselled a hole in the rock until water flowed. Sorry for the poorly taken photo of this sign. I am sure you didn't come here to see such photos. If you like to read the text, this is a better picture taken by Nue Tea. Interestingly, the well is still here. I must admit is it kind of scary looking. Can't help but imagine what happens if one slips and falls inside.
As the well is near the beach, it is quite intriguing, if you ask me. Wouldn't it be salty? Of course I didn't taste it.
It is really quite difficult to get there if you don't drive. If you are Hiver in Malaysia and if you drive, get there and post from there!
