HISTORY OF BRAGA?🚩🍍🧭 / HISTORIA DE BRAGA??🚙🌏

Maybe you will say ok ok, braga is the oldest site in Portugal and deserves a visit! let's say it's an interesting reason but what if I told you that Braga is also one of the oldest Christian sites in the world? It would be another reason to mark your summer vacations and come here! Braga belonged to the Romans in 16 BC, the name given by the Roman founders was: "Bracara Augusta", and if we had to relate the serious word to the great emperor "Caesar Augustus", at that time Braga was very important for the Roman trade routes because more than 5 roads were established here.🤔😮

As they say there, if you want to know Braga you can do two activities such as getting to Porto and then going to Braga because this city is only 50km from the second most important city in Portugal, in reality we can see all the history that Braga has for us just visiting its cities, its churches and monuments and of course it is very important but while in other countries you pay 2 euros for a coffee, in Braga you only pay 80 cents so it would be a very cheap trip! my mission was to visit the oldest cathedral in the country so I wouldn't leave here without first taking a souvenir of it!😮😮

I liked visiting the city in winter because it's very quiet, I don't like spaces crowded with tourists because I don't enjoy it the way I want, I was surprised to come in winter because it wasn't very cold and it didn't rain either, so I quite enjoyed going to the sites tourist without the need to "queue", there were also many places to park for free. Well, my next stop was to eat at a fancy restaurant to try good food!😅😍🏰

GASTRONOMY🚩🍍🧭 / GASTRONOMIA🚙🌏

Although this restaurant did not have Michelin stars, it was one of the most luxurious in the area. We had some wines, 2 main courses and two desserts for 85 euros. It caught my attention because I saw the word "history everywhere" and it was very nice for inside, do you want to visit it? then search for "Historical by Papaboa". By the way you can see my Google review there xD, in short you won't regret it, the duck is too good and the desserts don't even speak, 4.5 stars out of 5.😏😏

Wow"!!! Braga makes you fall in love with its beauties and it is that for each place where you pass like this, this one in a hidden corner tells a story, the cathedral of Braga already in the 12th century had been founded by the parents of the first king of the Portuguese country It never really followed an architectural pattern, it has a mixture of different architectures ranging from romanticism to gothic!🎇🎆✨
Wuao"!!!

I have already visited many cities in Braga but I had a strange attraction to Guimarães, surely because of how beautiful and quiet its streets are, I needed to see the cathedral "Church of Our Lady of Oliveira" in Braga, so it was my next destination!😮😮

Church of Our Lady of Oliveira🚩🍍🧭 / Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Oliveira🚙🌏

When I arrived at the church I was very impressed because it is very beautiful, it is in the center of Guimarães and it is one of the most visited in Braga, it is very old and was founded in 1388 by Fernando Henrique, then it became very important when the king Juan I thanked the Virgin Mary for winning the battle of "Aljubarrota" when we defeated the Spanish in one of their many attempts to invade Portugal!🤩😮

Here I learned something interesting called "double monastery" which is when a church is destined for monks and nuns but they do not share the same space and basically it was what was applied in this beautiful church, the style that was used in its architecture was the Romanesque - Manueline.🤔😮

Never in my life had I played a "musical organ" that instrument used to play musical notes in a church, and it was my first experience being so close to one! because they are usually built on a second floor and no one has access to them! but I paid 5 euros to enter a private room where there were bibles with centuries of antiquity in Latin, and to be able to be close to the musical instrument!😮😮

With these beautiful words "HERE I WAS BORN PORTUGAL" I say goodbye, I hope you have enjoyed my post and that you consider Braga as your next tourist destination this vacation!😍
