Argentina is a vast country with a great variety of landscapes and climates, which makes it one of the countries in the world with the greatest wealth of natural resources.
Among the places most chosen by national and foreign travelers for tourism, the Argentinean Patagonia is among the favorites. This region offers the most beautiful landscapes that can be found not only in this part of the continent, but in the world.
After having visited places like Villa La Angostura, San Martin de los Andes, Bariloche and several lakes in the region, I can assure you that one falls in love with the landscapes, the immensity of nature and especially the mystique that surrounds this region of our country.
For a long time we had chosen the beach as our summer vacation destination, since we love the sea, which is why the long-awaited visit to the mountain range had been postponed year after year. In the summer of 2022, we decided to change the routine of our vacations and began to plan a trip to Patagonia with the idea of fulfilling our dream and visit the Seven Lakes road that is part of the Nahuel Huapi National Park.
Argentina es un país muy extenso con una gran variedad de paisajes y climas, lo cual hace que sea uno de los países del mundo con mayor riqueza de recursos naturales.
Entre los lugares más elegidos por viajeros nacionales como extranjeros para hacer turismo, la Patagonia Argentina se encuentra entre los preferidos. Esta región regala los paisajes más bellos que podemos encontrar no solo por esta parte del continente, sino en el mundo.
Después de haber conocido sitios como Villa La Angostura, San Martín de los Andes, Bariloche y varios lagos de la región, puedo asegurarles que uno queda enamorado de los paisajes, de la inmensidad de la naturaleza y sobre todo de esa mística que envuelve a esta región de nuestro país.
Hacía mucho tiempo que para nuestras vacaciones de verano escogíamos como destino la playa, ya que amamos el mar, razón por la cual la tan ansiada visita a la cordillera se venía posponiendo año tras año. El verano del año 2022, decidimos cambiar la rutina de nuestras vacaciones y comenzamos a planificar un viaje a la Patagonia con la idea de cumplir nuestro sueño y conocer l el camino de los Siete Lagos que forma parte del Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi.
The planning was not easy because we had to do a lot of research in travelers' blogs and ask people who already knew, to find the best destination in which to make base and offer us the most services at a reasonable cost.
After several weeks of inquiries we came to the conclusion that the most convenient was to make a base in Villa La Angostura and from there travel the Seven Lakes road and cities such as San Martin de los Andes and Bariloche.
Thus, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at about 8 p.m., we set out on our long-awaited trip accompanied by a family of friends.
On January 5 we arrived at our destination and went straight to the campsite to enjoy being there. Already on the way we enjoyed the beautiful scenery offered by the route that follows the course of the Limay River is wonderful. I had never seen anything so beautiful, which made me very excited. Unfortunately I could not stop to take pictures because the driver of the family of friends with whom we had gone was very tired and needed to get to the destination, and a rule of travelers is that if we leave together, we arrive together at the destination.
La planificación no fue sencilla porque al no conocer tuvimos que investigar mucho en blogs de viajeros y preguntar a personas que ya conocían, para encontrar el mejor destino en el cual hacer base y nos ofreciera la mayor cantidad de servicios a un costo razonable.
Tras varias semanas de averiguaciones llegamos a la conclusión que lo más conveniente era hacer base en Villa La Angostura y de allí recorrer el camino de los Siete Lagos y ciudades como San Martín de los Andes y Bariloche.
Fue así que el martes 4 de enero de 2022 cerca de las 20 horas partimos rumbo a nuestro tan ansiado viaje acompañado de una familia de amigos.
El día 5 de enero llegamos a nuestro destino y fuimos directo al camping a disfrutar de estar allí. Ya en el camino disfrutamos de los hermosos paisajes que ofrece la ruta que va siguiendo el cauce del Rio Limay es maravilloso. Jamás había visto algo tan lindo lo cual me hizo emocionar. Lamentablemente no pude detenerme a tomar fotos porque el conductor de la familia de amigos con los que habíamos ido estaba muy cansado y necesitaba llegar a destino, y una regla de los viajeros es que si salimos juntos, llegamos juntos a destino.
Already installed in the campsite of Villa La Angostura we went to Lake Nahuel Huapi to enjoy something so long awaited, so long awaited for a long time. Put my feet in the icy and crystalline water.
For a few minutes I sat and devoted myself to contemplate every corner of the landscape to burn it into my retinas. This was not just another trip for me and I wanted to enjoy it to the fullest. My eyes could not believe what they were seeing and my soul was filled with joy. Only those who have ever visited these places can understand what I am telling you.
I remember that during those days a great heat wave affected the part of the country, reaching very high temperatures during the day, while at night it cooled down a lot.
In the following days it was so hot that for two or three days we spent it in different lakes enjoying the cold water, which helped to overcome temperatures close to 36° C.
Ya instalados en el camping de Villa La Angostura fuimos hasta el lago Nahuel Huapi para poder disfrutar de algo tan ansiado, tan esperado durante mucho tiempo. Poner mis pies en el agua helada y cristalina.
Por unos minutos me senté y me dediqué a contemplar cada rincón del paisaje para grabarlo a fuego en mis retinas. No era un viaje más para mí y quería disfrutarlo al máximo. Mis ojos no podían creer lo que veían y mi alma se llenaba de alegría. Solo los que alguna vez visitaron estos sitios podrán entender lo que les cuento.
Recuerdo que durante esos días una gran ola de calor afectó al parte del país, llegando a temperaturas muy elevadas durante el día, mientras que a la noche refrescaba bastante.
En los días siguientes hizo tanto tanto calor que durante dos o tres días la pasamos en diferentes lagos disfrutando del agua fría, ayudaba a sobrellevar temperaturas cercanas a los 36° C.
So, as the days went by, we went swimming in different lakes. First we did it in Lake Nahuel Huapi, which seemed to me the coldest of all. Although the first impact was like feeling knives sticking into our skin, after a few minutes I got used to the cold water.
In the following days the heat wave continued, which meant that instead of going for a walk and seeing new places, we opted to visit new lakes and enjoy a few dips.
So it was that in successive days we visited the Laga Espejo, the most beautiful for my taste, Lake Traful, Lake Lacar, Lake Escondido, among those I remember and are very nice, fascinating landscapes, where one achieves a connection with nature and a disconnection from life in big cities that is very restorative.
If I had to give you a piece of advice, it would be not to visit this place in the summer, because although it is nice to swim in the lakes, I think it is a place to walk and hike. There are many waterfalls, trails to walk; there is a lot to discover and for that you need at least not to do it in oppressive heat.
Así fue que con el pasar de los días nos fuimos bañando en diferentes lagos. Primero lo hicimos en el Lago Nahuel Huapi, el cual me pareció el más frío de todos. Si bien el primer impacto era como sentir que se clavaran cuchillos en nuestra piel, al cabo de unos minutos me terminaba acostumbrado al frío del agua.
En los días siguientes siguió la ola de calor lo cual hizo que en vez de dedicarnos a pasear y conocer nuevos lugares, optásemos a visitar nuevos lagos y disfrutar de unos cuantos chapuzones.
Así fue que en días sucesivos visitamos el Laga Espejo, el más lindo para mi gusto, el Lago Traful, el Lago Lacar, el Lago Escondido, entre los que recuerdo y son muy lindos, paisajes fascinantes, donde uno logra una conexión con la naturaleza y una desconexión de la vida en las grandes ciudades que es muy reparador
Si tuviese que darles un consejo sería que no visiten este lugar en el verano, porque si bien es lindo bañarse en los lagos, creo que es un lugar para caminar y recorrer. Son muchas las cascadas, los senderos por recorrer; hay mucho por descubrir y para ello se necesita que al menos no sea con un calor agobiante.
Early spring (October and November) and late summer (February or March) are usually ideal times to make the most of these beautiful landscapes.
Villa La Angostura is a very nice place to make a base and from there travel the rest of the area. The minimum length of stay I would say no less than 14 days to enjoy and get to know the various places.
Patagonia makes you fall in love with whoever visits it and makes you want to come back. There is a lot to see, a lot to discover. The ideal thing would be to do a previous research to know which are the places you should not miss, so you can organize yourself and not waste time looking for information in the tourist offices.

Principios de primavera (meses de octubre y noviembre) y finales del verano (meses de febrero o marzo) suelen ser épocas ideales para disfrutar al máximo de estos bellísimos paisajes.
Villa La Angostura es un lugar muy lindo para hacer base y de allí recorrer el resto de la zona. El tiempo mínimo de estadía yo diría que no menos de 14 días para disfrutar y poder conocer la varias lugares.
Patagonia enamora a quien la visita y dan muchas ganas de volver. Hay mucho para recorrer, mucho por descubrir. Lo ideal sería hacer una investigación previa para saber cuales son los puntos que no deben perderse y así poder organizarse y no perder tiempo buscando información en las oficinas de turismo.
