Thanks for showing the love on my last blog. It really means a lot to me and when I was in Kashi Ghat, I discovered that we can even do boating here in Yamuna river. I’m going to write about that amazing experience in this blog and also contribute my part in awesome #winterchallenge hosted by the amazing Hive account@worldmappin community.

It was near the aarti ghat, where we spotted some boats and a man asked us if we wanted to do a round of the ghat in the boat. We asked for the fare and it was 200 rupees for 15-20 minutes of ride. We agreed upon the price and thought it to be quite reasonable.

This is what always happens in Brij, you’ll rarely be charged more than it’s really meant to be. You’ll always love the vibe in brij and will always crave more. There is spiritual energy everywhere around here and you’ll surely feel it with each step you walk, every breath you take and every second you’ll spend there. There’s love everywhere and that love is just immeasurable.

We hopped into our boat and there were only two of us in the boat. It was a kind of one of a kind experience. There are also shared boats that can take you for a lot cheaper, but we didn’t wanna do that and have the full experience of the sunset over Yamuna river.

The owner of the boat was sitting on the one extreme, and we were sitting on another. The sun was right in front of our eyes. It was so mesmerising to see sun slowly getting down.

There was one concerning thing that bothered me a lot when I was in the boat. It was the amount of pollution in Yamuna river Yamuna river was so polluted that we couldn’t even see a few feet in the water river passes through the NCR region of India. It becomes really polluted from there. I was so sad to see that a river is that been worshipped all the time by the people of India and yet is one of the most polluted rivers in the world, what an irony.

There were other people to roaming along with us in other boats in the river. Everyone was having a good time. I wondered how beautiful this river would have been looked if it wasn’t polluted. I imagined how clear the water would be if I would be able to go back in time for about 500 years.

Our boat driver was a good person. He guided us really well. He told us about all the monuments and all the history he knew about the Kashi Ghat to us in full detail. He told us the story that how Lord Krishna killed the Keshi Demon here in Keshi Ghat with great enthusiasm.

There were many other activities that was happening on the other side of the Yamuna river bank, such as paragliding. We were so afraid to do that as it looked risky, but I imagined how good it would look once we got up in the sky in a paraglider.

Now we were on the other bank of the river Yamuna, and we could see the whole Kashi Ghat in its full glory. The Ghatt itself is about 200 m long, and we could see the whole ghat in one frame.

It was already more than 15 minutes. We’ve been roaming around in the river Yamuna and it was now time to get back to the other side of the shore near Kashi Ghat. So our boat driver turned our boat completely. On our way back there was another boat, and the boat driver’s friend was on that boat. He kind of challenged him for a race up to the other side. they competed for a while, and then he realised that we were also with him. It was a good little moment we had there.

Another thing that I really liked was the boat. It was properly decorated with artificial flowers and was made really attractive unlike other boats. I guess it was the best boat in the Khat that we got luckily for our evening ride.

Now the sun was almost down below the skyline of the holy town of Vrindavan, and we were also back at the Kashi Ghat from where we started. We had a wonderful time there on the Yamuna river, and it was a good decision of hiring a boat.

The boat driver tied his boat back at the bank of the river Yamuna, and we paid him the money he deserved. We him for showing us around and also guiding us beautifully.

While at the Keshi ghat, I kept some photos of the sunset over the river and they just came out to be amazing. I really loved how great they came out to be there for a while, and witnessed one of the most beautiful sunset we’ve ever seen in our lives.
