Namaste ๐
Hope you all are doing great!
Today Iโll be telling you guys about my journey to Shree Bindhyabasini Temple in Pokhara. This is the oldest temple in the city and almost everyone visiting Pokhara City visits this holy place as this is one of the most prominent tourist attraction of Pokhara city.
This place attracts people of all walks of life. Be it be Local Nepali people, Indian tourists, foreign tourists, everyone visits, this place. This is a Hindu Temple, but itโs situated on top of a little hill. There is a market which leads you towards the hill from the main road. The market is just about hundred to 200 m long with shops all around that you can see in the photograph below.
There is also some space for Parking, where tourist can park their car, and from there, there is a way that leads straight towards the temple. In the photograph below, you can see the main entrance gate of the temple.
Just before reaching this main entrance gate, there was an alternative way to reach the temple thatโs situated on a top of a little hill. The alternative way is to use a lift that is dedicated only for people with disabilities and old age.
On the way to the temple, there is also a Buddhist monastery that you can see in the photograph below. The Buddhist monastery also looked really beautiful and this place as a whole very very positive. The photograph below and the one next to it shows you the monastery, which was on the way.
As soon as I entered the temple premises, I was greeted with a place that was so perfect for photography that I couldnโt help, but to take some photographs there. I asked some random people to take my photographs while posing with the Annapurna himalayan Range in the background.
Below two photographs are captured by some random strangers while I was posing in front of The mighty Annapurna himalayan Range. There were huge mountains right behind me as you can see in the photographs too.
The photograph above above was my profile picture in WhatsApp for a really long time as I really like this photograph. As my photographs came out to be nice, so now it was time for us to go to the temple itself.
Shree Bindhyabasini Temple is dedicated to the Goddess Bindhyabasini who is incarnation of Goddess Kali. Apart from that, there are temples of Lord Ganesh Lord Hanuman, and a couple of other temples in the premises as well.
There was huge crowd of people waiting in lines for their turn to get inside of the temple. It means that we also had to wait for a really long time before we get to get inside of the temple, so we also did that.
There was some kind of event going on there, and there were many women wearing red coloured clothes sitting there. It was a kind of ritual or worship that was going on that. I wasnโt sure what it was.
The people participating in this event were mostly local people, local Nepali people and they all were dressed in red colours and they were worship right in front of the temple. It was a really unique thing that I saw for the first time in my life.
While we were waiting in line for a turn to get inside of the temple, the event was going on with full force. Everyone was fully engaged in the event and they were chants in the temple too.
Tumi, it looks like some kind of worship ritual in which the females are worshipped as goddesses as you can see in the photographs below too they were being offered with the same worship things that goddesses would have been provided with. Itโs a kind of ritual in Hindu religion that is practised mostly on the Navratras.
So after waiting for about 20 to 25 minutes, it was now our turn to get inside of the temple. As you know the mobile phones are not allowed inside of the temple premises so I was not able to capture any photograph, but as always, it was very peaceful, and I really loved the visit to inside of the temple.
That was the first destination of our first day in Pokhara. I will be telling you guys about my journey ahead in the next blog as this is sufficient for today.
Thanks for passing by.
