Namaste 🙏
Hope you are doing great!
Very beautiful morning, here at the Spiti Valley and today we were heading towards the Majestic Chandra Lake. We left from Batal campsite really early in the morning so that we could be at the Chandra Tal Lake on time, and we could be back as well.
As already mentioned in my last post, the day we were leaving towards the Chandra Tal Lake. It was forecasted as heavy snow storms. We didn’t want to take chances as this place is so ruthless.
We were on our way, and it was a Road in the name only. This was one of the most dangerous roads have ever been throughout my life. You can see that in the pictures as well, it was just a broken passage through the dry desert of Spiti. We were at about 3500 m above sea level, and we could feel the decline in oxygen as well.
The road on which we were travelling is the road which connects the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh to Lahaul and Spiti district after crossing the world, famous Kunjum pass at 4500m.
Later, in this road, there is one divergent towards Chandra Tal Lake and the road straightaway goes to the Kunjum pass. We took the left turn and started our journey towards the Chandra Tal Lake.
This is my favourite photograph from the lot. In this, you can see the condition of the road as well as the terrain in which we were driving. You can also see that how high we were of The Mountain and there is no chance of any mistake mistakes when You’re such high.
This was also the gateway to Chandrapal wildlife sanctuary. This place is really famous for the sightings of snow leopards as well as himalayan Ibex. This is a conservative area and wildlife century with very delicate ecosystem. So whenever you are visiting here, you should pay attention to that and try not to ruin the natural environment.
Apart from that, not only this is the place of wild animals. There are many demigods and sacred souls, which reside here in this remote region. We need to pay tribute to all of them and treat everything with respect whenever you are visiting this place.
This place is so beautiful that you couldn’t have imagined a place that beautiful in your dreams as well, but it comes with a price. The price is the Harsh environment and the ever-changing weather conditions that are persistent in this ecological area, and also you need to pay respect to the delicate ecology of this place.
I will be continuing my journey to be in the most beautiful place. I’ve ever been in my next block that is it for today. Thank you all for passing by.
Peace ☮️
