Did you guys enjoy the long weekend? I hope so. ❤️
I'm back for another episode of Lulinghayaw sa Cebu. And today I'll share with you another trip to my beloved Province of Cebu.
If you can remember, I shared my trips to Biliran, Leyte, and Southern Leyte with my Bogo Family. I always wander around (at least once a year) with my Bogo Family. It's a sacred tradition that started in 2018 when I was at the edge of breaking apart. 💔
In today's travel blog, join me as I revisit the first trip down South with my Bogo Family.
✨Reunited with my Bogo Family✨
Each and every one of us has been hit by the pandemic in one way or another. In our Bogo Family's case, we had to ditch our tradition last year. We were supposed to go to Camotes in September 2020. We've already identified a date, blocked off all our schedules, and I've promised to take care of everything else. Unfortunately, we ended up meeting virtually every Friday. Yes, we've made it a tradition to free up our Friday nights from 8 PM until 11 PM sometimes past midnight for our sanity check.
Friday nights were something to look forward to. It was easier to open up to these people than anyone else because they've seen me in my worst state but they've loved me and continued being a family to me. And for that, I'm beyond grateful. I felt secure to have a family that's just one call away whenever things don't go as I expected.
✨The long wait is over✨
After almost a year of not seeing each other, we finally took advantage of the opening up of the borders of Cebu City and Cebu Province. This trip was haphazardly planned during one of our dinner-outs with Philip and Jelo. We were on our way back from Humba Heaven in Busay. I couldn't forget how heavy the rain was when Jelo and Philip thought we should have a trip with the family this year. I told them we need to check the schedules of everyone. But they wouldn't buy my excuses; I ended up calling John and chatting with Mark for their availability and before that ride ended, we have a date and place in mind: Badian, end of November 2020.
Jelo booked a room on Airbnb and we were good to go. I've planned what we'd cook, what we need to buy and to bring, I've booked a car (rental) as well. But two days prior to the trip, the host notified Jelo that he wasn't able to secure the permits necessary for his place to operate. He gave us a full refund and we were left with no options but to look for another place to stay. From Badian, we ended up booking in Rio Beach Resort in Alegria, Cebu.
The night before the trip, John, Philip, GB, and I slept at Jelo's place. We fetched Mark and her then-fiancee, Pallas on our way to Alegria the following day.
It was a beautiful day in Alegria when we arrived. It wasn't so hot nor too gloomy. Just the right weather for us to have an amazing day.
Since this was a very short vacation with my Bogo Family, we had to make the most out of it. Right after we disembarked, the boys immediately ordered San Mig Light which they drank while watching the view from the resort. Perfect pair, I should say.
This trip was even made special with the presence of my beloved . Of course, we didn't let the opportunity slide, we took photos and selfies as well. It was also the first time my boyfriend joined us on an out-of-town trip since we rarely travel with my Bogo Family (once a year will do).
We weren't allowed by my parents to go on a trip if we don't have friends who'll come with us (more of a chaperone 😂). That's why GB and I always grab travels with friends because it allowed us to explore new places together. If you're curious if my parents already gave their blessing for us to travel together, you'll have to stay tuned in my upcoming travel blogs. 😉
Pictorial and more pictorial
This was my first post-lockdown trip with friends (also my first time to travel to a beach in Alegria). Hence, it's natural to take lots of photos with the rough ocean as the background.
I have to say that I'm one lucky girl to have a boyfriend who takes care of my pictorials everywhere we go. I never heard him say "We're done. I took a lot of pictures of you already."
He's more of "This angle here is nice, let's take another one here" "That's a nice angle, don't move." "Another pose!" "Make curves with your body" I just love my boyfriend's relentless energy when taking my pictures.
So we started off with some 'serious and artsy' poses that later on turned into jump shots that I couldn't perfect, hence the picture below. 😂
Later on, I ended up trying to figure out how to make a tree pose work for my body that just couldn't find the word balance in my system. But hey, I tried, perhaps we can focus on that. 🤣
After a few more tries, found it! And was able to hold the pose enough for my boyfriend to snap this photo of me in total surrender.
I apologize if we have to end it here, but I'll be back for Part 2 of our Alegria trip. You just have to stay tuned. 😉
I'll leave you with this picture of me laughing as if there's no tomorrow so you'll have a hint of how things went during the remainder of this trip. One word for the next post: Victorious.
Adios for now! ❤
