Can you see how steep this mountain is? 😲
Done with one, more to go! 😅
Going downhill only to find out another major assault few minutes later!
Taking short water breaks in between just to make sure we're still alive after this hike! LOL!
Look at Jelo's face! It explains whatever we had to endure that day. 😑
When Jesse mentioned, "We are almost there!" our faces lit up!
See? We're almost...... there? After 30 more minutes....
We finally reached the road! Wohooo! Success!
Yesterday, I brought you to some parts of Spartan trail and today we'll finish the trail. Hopefully! Find out if we finished the trail safely and within our target time!
In my last post, we had to decide whether we'd take Option 1 or 2 to reach the other end of the trail. Only two out of six of us went for Option 1 which meant climbing the stiff wall just beside the little waterfall you saw in my last post. The rest of us took the steeper yet safer route. After surviving this phase, we had to gear up for an assault that felt like forever. After ascending a hill, we found ourselves in front of another one and another one. Now, I believe that Spartan Trail is not for the faint-hearted but we had to choose and the only logical route to take was the one ahead of us. We could either stop here and go hungry or continue despite our slow pace just to reach our destination for the morning where we could also get our lunch! Food motivated us that morning.
I remember stumbling a few times due to the scorching heat of the sun that day; I felt dizzy and some of us even ran out of drinking water. We had to share whatever was left. When we felt tired, we rested for a bit but we never entirely stopped. We were determined to reach our destination. And after about an hour and 30 minutes since our encounter at the waterfall, we finally reached the end of Spartan! Just glad we made it despite everything we had to go through.
What an assault! It's already hard that it's dry ground, I couldn't imagine what will happen during the rainy season. The difficulty might triple! 😅
