Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
A couple of months ago, I compiled this photo collection dedicated to Czech chateaus that received a very positive response from you guys so it is with a great pleasure that I am going to introduce you to yet another beautiful chateau that I had the privilege to visit a few days ago.
The chateau is called Linhartovy and I got to see it during one of my recent bike trips around the Moravian - Silesian Region of the Czech Republic.
Located in a village of the same name (Linhartovy), between the towns of Krnov and Albrechtice, very close to the Czech - Polish borders, the Linhartovy Chateau is a large chateau that was built here in the second half of the 16th century. Originally, the chateau was built in the Renaissance architectural style but during reconstructions later on, some Baroque features were added to it too.
The Linhartovy Chateau is surrounded by vast parks with many oak trees the oldest one of which is believed to be approximately 850 years old. Numerous exotic plants and trees can be found in the park as well.
These days, the chateau is also home to several interesting exhibitions and art collections including ceramic artworks, paintings and various historic artifacts. In spite of the indisputable charm of the magnificent building and the interesting interiors, however, the chateau is not very popular with tourists, receiving just some 10,000 visitors per year. With that being said, I think this beautiful landmark can definitely be referred to as one of the hidden gems of this part of the Czech Republic ;)
I hope I will have more time to explore this magnificent piece of architecture and visit the interiors too next time.
As usually, all photos of the chateau featured above were taken by me.
