Hello friends finally after a long time and after many times that I wanted to go there but never found the time to do it, I went to Lavarone to see the Drago Vaia it is practically a dragon made entirely of wood by the artist Marco Martalar with the waste from the Vaia storm that hit the woods of Triveneto again in 2018.
The artist wanted according to his philosophy to recover part of the timber that would otherwise have been destroyed.
I think it took him over a year to make it.
This sculpture is truly impressive and I did not expect it to be so tall in fact they say it is the largest wooden dragon in Europe.
to get there you have to walk a bit because you can't arrive by car but you have to leave the car in a parking lot near Lavarone in the province of Trento
For me it was also an opportunity to take a ride in the mountains that I had not done for a long time and to take a walk also because I have to get in shape for the costume fitting.
The work was conceived by the artist who must change over time in fact over the years it will most likely come to decompose following the artist's philosophy which is that the work returns to nature.
I recommend the visit not when there is snow because otherwise the route becomes impractical.
And I recommend arriving early in the morning just like I did so as not to find many people because otherwise it becomes really chaos and naturally avoid the weekend.
so you just have to go and discover this work before it returns to nature itself.
