Hello hive community.
I hope you are all having fun. Today's post is based on the World Heritage site "Khajuraho" captured during a visit to the historical site. I love visiting such places. Because if you come here and see the old temples, you will see the history of India. God has been worshiped in India since the beginning of which these temples are the witness. The photographs of the temples in today's post have a unique carving done on them. This carving work cannot be compared with any art work of the present time. Khajuraho is an amazing mythological place located in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh state in India.
Khajuraho has been highly developed by the government. A ticket of 25 rupees has also been kept to enter here. Booking of tickets to enter Khajuraho is done from the venue and also online. The price of this ticket for foreigners coming from outside is 600 rupees which is much higher than the normal entry. But after visiting Khajuraho you will find this price very low. There are currently 20 Puranic temples in Khajuraho. Whose height is from 20 meters to 32 meters. It is said that when the main temple of Khajuraho was built, there were around 85 temples here. With the passage of time, about 20 to 22 temples have survived.
These temples were built from 950 BC to about 1050 BC. During this time, about 85 temples were built in an area of 20 kilometers. Which has remained in the area of 6 kilometers at present. The main temples in this temple are Hindu temples but Jain temples are also built here. These temples were built by Chandravarman, the ruler of the Chandela dynasty. It took about 100 years to complete the work of all these temples. Even today, these temples have astonishing carvings.
Another feature of the carvings of these temples is that the wonderful artworks of the Khajuraho temples are unique and unique in themselves. If you look at the spire of this temple, erotic statues of men and women are also made. Due to which it is believed that these temples were destroyed.
Muslim rulers ruled India from the 13th century to the 17th century. So here the Hindu temples have been damaged to a great extent. If you see the idols of the temples here, they are seen in every broken state. If no idol has head, then some idol has no hands and feet. But now Khajuraho has got the status of world heritage site and the remaining temples are well maintained.
There are many reasons behind the naming of Khajuraho temple. It is said that at the time when these temples were built, there were a lot of palm trees in this area, so the name of this area is Khajuraho. I knew about Khajuraho from a long time ago. Because we used to learn about these temples in school. A lot was heard and read about the carving work of this temple and its wonderful designs. But it is really beautiful to see the artwork and art in person. At that time, such carving is also a very difficult work. It is possible in today's machine age but if we go back 1000 years it will be very difficult.
