Hi my dear fellow travellers all around the world. Hope you all doing well and enjoying with your loved ones.
Today I am going to share a very beautiful and peaceful place where you can simply stay and relax in the peaceful environment for a while.
Gurudwara Sri Data Bandi Chor Sahib is located in the Gwalior fort itself. Though it a place of worship for Sikh people but yes people of any faith can come here and pay their homage to the Eternal Master.
Story behind the Gurudwara
It was somewhere in between 1617 and 1619, Guru Hargobind Sahib was detained in Gwalior Fort by emperor Jehangir. Later He was released but not alone, he managed to release 52 Hindu kings with him all of them too were detained for various political reasons. So Bandi means imprisoned and chor means released. So after this event Guru Sahib got the title of Bandi Chor. To celebrate this event, in the memory of Guru Hargobind Sahib, this beautiful Gurudwara was bulit in 1970-80. Source
We visited this place a month ago, and we were overwhelmed by the peaceful, serene environment all around.

View of the road to the Gurudwara. You may visit any Gurudwara anywhere and you will be impressed with the neat clean hygienic surroundings there.
View of the building from the other side. Here some construction work is going on.
Let's now enter the Gurudwara
It is the shoe house 'Jora Ghar' . Here you can remove your shoes and the person volunteering here will keep them safe in this place. They gave us a token in return when we gave them the shoes. Once you comes out of the Gurudwara after paying homage, give them the same token to get back your shoes.

After removing our shoes we had to put a scarf on the head. As in the Gurudwara no one can enter bare headed. You must have a piece of cloth on your head. It is considered as a gesture of respect towards the Guru. So in this picture hubby is tying the scarf on the head of our daughter. (There were a lot of scarfs in few baskets for the visitors.)
This is the place where the stairs begin. Here water is present all the time. Put your feet in this water just to clean and then start walking on the stairs to enter into the main sanctum.
This is Nishaan Sahib, found outside of all Gurudwaras. This is a tall flagpole with yellow color wrapped around it and it generally ends with an arrow on the top.
Front view of the Gurudwara with the corridor for entrance in main sanctum. This corridor has been built so that when there is a crowd all can follow the que to the entrance and discipline can be maintained. Although the day when we went there, there was no crowd at all.
Inside view of main building. Here after paying homage to Guru, you may sit down for some time. This place is really full of positive vibes, you may feel by yourself when you are there.
This is the Pinni Prasaad sweet porridge of wheat flour, very delicious, you may take it to the home Or have it here only. My daughter loves this and we finished it when we were there only.
She is my daughter sitting there and eating prasaad. We sat down for a few minutes and then we came out.
There was a small market outside the gurudwara, generally with items related to Punjabi culture. We stayed there for a few minutes just to have a look and then left the place.
That's all about this trip.
Thank you everyone
See you all again.
