Being in a tropical country is a blessing. The Philippines has more than seven thousand islands, each with its own distinct charm. We had the opportunity to visit this island before the world came to a halt due to the pandemic.
Malapascua is located in the province of Cebu's northern region.
From Cebu City, we drove 3.5 hours to Maya Port, where we boarded a small boat to Malaspacua Island. It was my first time, and I was surprised to discover that it was much smaller than I had anticipated. (I was anticipating something similar to Bantayan Island.) I've never tried, but I believe you could walk around the entire island in under a day.
On this island, there are no proper roads. People walked or rode bikes to get about, and I felt very connected to the island as a result. I appreciated its beauty up close. We rode our motorcycles around the island. They also acquire your contact information if you want them to come to your hotel for a ride.
We shot as much drone footage as we could without being bothered by the heat. My guy, who is known for his daring, jumped off a cliff. Keep in mind that this isn't the case for everyone. It's not safe for the faint of heart, and it's also not a legitimate tourist activity because there was no one to help you. You are free to do so at your own risk. lol!
This beautiful island is well-known for its diving opportunities. According to locals, you can even see thresher sharks scuba diving. How I wish we had given it a shot!
The natural beauty of this island astounds me.
To end this trip I wanna share the beautiful sunset of the island. So beautiful that all you wanna say is "Thank you Mr. Sun for the beautiful day and see you again tomorrow".
