This is the Dragon dance that was performed by the students of Yunnan University.
The architectural beauty of this university will soothe your eyes. With the blue sky, white clouds, and green hills, the peach colour of the buildings goes perfectly. As the university is built on a huge area (300 hectares), the academic buildings, library, and dormitories are spread wildly.
They have a gorgeous canteen and from its roof, you can enjoy the beauty of the campus. The canteen has two separate dining halls for students and teachers. The food quality and varieties were quite impressive in here. We always sat on the teacher lounge and they serve the foods like a buffet system, also as we were from Bangladesh, all the meat items were halal and specially made for us.

Among all the buildings of this university, the library is the most aesthetic one. It is listed in the top 10 advanced university libraries in China with a collection of 3.8 million books. The central roof of this building is made of transparent glass from where you can enjoy the blue sky while reading. It is also a great source of natural light and the students can also enjoy the night view while studying.

While entering on the library, you will see this scale model of this university
As it was a cultural exchange program, we had sent them some of our arts and crafts which they put in their library for display. I had a piece of my painting too which was about our most famous cultural festival "Pohela Boishakh".
There were also some cultural elements of China like calligraphy, tea serving, and musical instruments.
Beside the university, there is a tower called "Stately Minguan Building'' which has a pretty lavender field in front of it. I wish I could capture the flowers more clearly!
The university authority also invested a handsome amount of money to build and decorate the lakes and waterfalls.
On the lake, there were an amazing black swans with a lot of colorful fish which will definitely attract you! This place was so peaceful for spending a warm afternoon!
This one is called the "wish lake" and they believe that, here, if you wish something truly from your heart, it will come true!
They also prioritize sports and gymnastics and have specific track and field for these things.
Beside these places, I also loved to spend time roaming around the supermarket of this university. It was just one storey building with groceries, stationery and crafting materials, foods, cosmetics, and so on. As China is the best in producing cute art supplies, stationery products and as I am a painter and crafty person the stationary corner of the store was a little heaven for me.
From the very first day, Yunnan University assigned some of their students as volunteers for us. They were from the English language department but their nationality was Chinese. This will sound a little exaggerated but they were the most helpful and caring folk, who were with us all day long for 14 days. We know the Chinese people are famous for their hard work and after seeing the volunteers we know why. They were with us all the time and helped us all the way possible. As they know both English and Chinese, they were our only way to communicate with others in traveling, shopping, and so on. They were genuinely cordial and friendly and with this behavior, they just became our best companions. Among them, a girl named Sofia was with our group. An interesting fact is, all Chinese people have two names, one is Chinese or a family name and another one is English. So Sofia was her English name. Back then, Sofia was a newcomer student in this university. she was so friendly, mature, funny, and caring. We never felt hesitant to ask any sort of problems or questions. She helped us by showing us the local food, market, where things can be cheaper, and helped us to bargain with vendors and explore inside and outside the university.

At our closing ceremony, she took us to her dorm. And for her, we also got the chance to get an idea about their dorms. There were different dormitories for national and international students. In their dorms, four students were allotted for one single room with two bunk beds, and the rooms were congested compared with our dormitories.
On our last day, the volunteers also came to see us off and at the last moment, Sofia got so emotional and cried while hugging us. She got really attached to our group and spending 14 days with them was one of my best memories so far.
Sophia wrote this kind of postcard for each of us which was really heart-touching!
I am still friend with Sophia on social media and try to be connected! So overall, I must admit that Yunnan University created a good impression on me and it was a wholesome experience! This university should be listed among the top universities in China.
