Assalamu Alaikum my dear friends, how are you all? Hope everyone is well and living a very good life by the grace of Allah. Alhamdulillah I am also very well by the grace of Allah.
This Lahiri house on the banks of the Kumarkhali Garai river in Kushtia, which still exists as a holder and carrier of much history and tradition. This house is mainly associated with the memory of Khudiram Bose, a fearless soldier of the anti-British movement. Also, the house is also known as Khudiram Bose's uncle's house to many locals. The most surprising thing is that he was arrested from this house.
A police officer named Purna Chandra Lahiri used to come to Jaduboyra village of Kumarkhali upazila occasionally. He was the one who built the two-story house with lime mortar and bricks during the British period. He was originally the then DIG of the police, a Padamaryadar officer.
The two-story building has four rooms and a hall room on the ground floor. There are two large rooms and a back veranda on the second floor. There is a temple next to the two-story building. Purna Chandra Lahiri used to come here during the puja and worship with great pomp and show. In addition, the building was used as a secondary school from 1969 to 1972.
