I would like to share the memories I gathered from my visit to Burghausen Castle. Visiting this impressive castle was a unforgettable experience. The castle complex stretches a whopping 1043 meters along the walls.
According to the museum records Burghausen Castle is considered the longest castle complex in Europe. And the view is very impressive. Of course castles are usually built on the highest points so we had to climb to the very top.
At this point numerous gates and passages catch the eye. It must not have been easy for people to live here.Just imagine they had to use these stairs to transport their food from below. During my visit it surprised me to see hardly any people down there even though it was a Saturday.
We carefully climbed up the stairs. They are quite steep so it's important to be cautious. But the view is magnificent. In front of us the Salzach River, the bridge, and the city emerge. It is really an impressive sight.
Within the castle complex there are many historical buildings and museums. Many sections of Burghausen Castle have been restored and opened to visitors. Inside historical furniture, paintings and other works are exhibited. You can also explore the historical dungeons and towers in the castle.
A large courtyard stretches out in front of us. It used tobe a military training area in the castle. Now it is mostly used for outdoor events and festivals. And here are many cafes and restaurants located here. You can grab abite to eat and enjoy the view.
We are making our way towards the highest point of the castle complex. It is very impressive place. Here we have the grand view of a massive tower and the magnificent castle walls. When you look down, you can see the beautiful surrounding nature. It is a place worth seeing.
Burghausen Castle is a place known for its historical and cultural significance. I recommend dedicating plenty of time to explore this impressive castle located on the border between Germany and Austria.
I hope I have been able to share the beauty of Burghausen Castle with you. I will continue to share more interesting places with you. Thank you for reading.
