Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on Japan (Tokyo and Osaka) and Maldives, I saw that Worldmappin had the Winter Challenge #winterchallenge, so I thought I should give it a shot! Being in a country that is summer all year round, I went through some of previous overseas trips for some winter stuff, and I managed to find some interesting stuff!
This was a trip I took in 2018 and it was to a winter ski resort in Hokkaido, Japan! It's so coincidental that I am writing about Japan again, and it actually goes to show that there's so much beautiful sights across different seasons in Japan. Anyway, we flew to Sapporo and made our way to our resort by coach, which is the Kiroro Ski Resort!
Because of the length of this trip, and the activities that my friend and I did, I will split the posts into several parts so that it's not too lengthy (and it's also more manageable on my end).
Here's the earlier post:

Japan - First Experience With Snow In Hokkaido (Part 2)
With further ado, let's go!
After the cabin car ride, we were back to ground level. As it was already late morning, the whole space was crowded with visitors trying out the skis.
While the more experienced adults and skiers headed up the mountains to ski all the way down, there were also beginner lessons as well as for the children as well. In this photo below, you can see a group of kids learning the basics. It was quite fun to be there because not only we got to enjoy the scenery, there was a lot of laughter because everyone was having a lot of fun. It was almost like I was at Disneyland. Lol.
For those who didn't take to pay for the lessons, there was also a lot of space for people to ski in a free and easy manner.
All good things had to come to an end, and it was time to head back to the resort. After all, the day hours were pretty short during the winter season. More scenery on our journey back!
Upon returning to our resort, we were a little shocked to see that the snowfall was gotten heavier. The entire compound was packed with snow and we had to be very careful while walking too, even with our winter boots! This was because the snow has actually covered the ground and it was quite difficult to spot the steps and gradient on the ground actually. So the best option was to stay indoors and enjoy the onsen and food in the restaurants. Hehe!
Within 2 days of arriving at the resort, the view from our hotel room has transformed from this (which is the photo that I posted in Part 1):
To this!
Finally, it was time to leave the ski resort and head back to the city! This was where we stayed for two nights and I thought the photo looked awesome with the building and the big amount of snow.
So this summed up our adventure at the ski resort! Not only did I experience snow for the first time, I got to try out many different activities and got to experience such amazing wonderful scenery. Even though it was freezing cold, I thought this trip was still worth it because it's really an once in a lifetime experience for me!
Stay tuned for more adventures as part of my participation in the #winterchallenge!
Finally, thanks for reading my post in the community under World Map Pin!
