Last week, I had the chance to travel to Malapascua, and even if it was just a short trip, it became one of the most refreshing experiences I’ve had lately. We actually went there just to play for a band gig, but even with that simple reason, the trip turned out to be something special. We stayed on the island for one night, and that overnight stay was enough for me to appreciate how peaceful and naturally beautiful Malapascua is.
When we arrived on the island, the first thing that welcomed us was the clear blue water and the soft sea breeze. The place felt quiet and relaxing—very different from the busy towns and noisy streets. Walking on the shore made me feel calm because the sand was soft and the waves were gentle. Even with just a simple walk, I already felt like the trip was worth it.
For our stay, we slept at Mabuhay Resort, which is located close to the beach. The resort is simple, clean, and peaceful. I don’t know their exact room rates, but since we stayed overnight, I got to see how comfortable the area is. What I liked most is that you can easily walk to the shore anytime. It’s not a luxurious resort, but it has what you need if you want a quiet and relaxing night on the island.
During the night, the beach still looked beautiful. The lights from the nearby places reflected on the water, and the sound of the waves made the whole place feel calm. I didn’t even get the chance to take photos because we were playing for a band gig at that time, so I simply enjoyed the moment instead. Malapascua has this natural charm that makes you slow down and appreciate everything, even if you’re only there for a short stay.
The next morning, I woke up early to look at the sea again. The water looked even clearer, and the morning breeze felt fresh. The island was quiet, and the sky was bright. It was one of those simple moments that you just want to remember. Before we left, I took more pictures so I could keep the memory of that peaceful morning.
If you’re planning to visit Malapascua, I recommend exploring the beach early in the morning or during sunset because that’s when the island shows its calmest beauty. And if you want a simple place to stay near the shore, Mabuhay Resort can be one of your options during your trip.
