Introduction and a brief history:

ELR (east lancashire railway) is a former railway line connecting (or exactly its section) Manchester with Leeds, which ran through Hewyood and the city of Bury, among others. Its origins took place in 1841 in Heywood. Over time, the line developed and connected more and more villages, towns and cities. In 1950, the line began to have problems due to rising exploitation costs and the creation of new networks of new drug highways, and an auto-service line being a cheaper alternative. 1969 All connections were reduced to only one line, which, unfortunately, was used sporadically.

ELR (east lancashire railway) to dawna linia kolejowa łącząca (a dokładnie jej odcinek) Manchester z Leeds , która przebiegała miedzy innymi przez Hewyood czy miasto Bury .Jej początki powstania miały miejsce w 1841 roku w Heywood . Z czasem linia się rozbudowała oraz łączyła coraz więcej wsi ,miasteczek i miast .W 1950 lina zaczęła mieć problemy przez rosnące koszt eksploatacji oraz powstania nowych sieci nowych dróg autostrad ,i linii autobusowych będących tańsza alternatywa . 1969 Zredukowano wszystkie połącznia tylko do jednej linii , która niestety była użytkowana sporadycznie.

ELR today:

Today, ELR is a real regional tourist attraction, where we can get into the old passenger wagons, feel the atmosphere of the old one, eat something in a restaurant wagon also in old style, and everything is hauled by historic steam or diesel locomotives. The route is small, about 12 miles, passing through 7 stations in different towns and the Bury City. And there is an attraction at each station, such as the Transport Museum in Bury. Trains run along the route during spring and summer season, mainly on weekends.

ELR dzisiaj to prawdziwa regionalna atrakcja turystyczna , gdzie możemy wsiąść do starych wagonów pasażerskich ,poczuć klimat dawnej kolejni , zejść cos w wagonie restauracyjnym również w starym stylu ,i wszystko jest ciągnięte przez zabytkowe lokomotywy parowe lub dieslowskie. Trasa jest niewielka bo około 12 mil przechodząca przez 7 stacji w różnych miejscowościach i miasta Bury . I przy każdej ze stacji znajduję się jakaś atrakcja ,jak na przykład Muzeum transportu w Bury . Pociągi kursują na trasie w okresie wiosennym i letnim , głównie w weekendy .

In this old wagon there is a small restaurant called "The Whistlestop" and next to it a small playground for children.

W tym starym wagonie znajduję się nie wielka restauracja zwana "The Whistlestop " a obok niej mały plac zabaw dla dzieci.

And here we have a special water tank with a dispenser, used to refill the water in the steam locomotive

A tu mamy specjalny zbiornik na wodę z dozownikiem ,służący do uzupełniania tej że wody w parowozie

The next day I went back to the station especially to take pictures of this machine
Następnego dnia wróciłem na stacje ,specjalnie aby zrobić zdjęcia tej maszynie

After the conductor had closed and secured all the doors of the wagon, he made known the Mashinist (there were three of them, including the Lady). The locomotive released a lot of steam and went on tour

Po tym jak konduktor zamknął i zabezpieczył wszystkie drzwi wagonu ,dał znać maszynistą ( była ich trójka w tym także Pani ). Lokomotywa wypuściła mnóstwo pary i ruszyła w trasę
