Hello Everyone
When my family and i decided to head to Mindanao for a break we didnt really know what to expect. We’d heard good things about Dakak Park & Beach Resort but nothing could get us ready for how amazing it actually is. This place isnt just some fancy spot you see in ads its the kind of place that makes you want to pack your bags and stay forever.
We drove all the way from Cagayan de oro City and even though the trip took a while the moment we pulled into the resort gate we knew it was worth every minute. The first thing you notice is all the green around you tall trees bright flowers, and grass that looks so soft you just want to walk barefoot on it. The air smells like sea salt and fresh leaves, and you can already hear the waves crashing not too far away.
Checking in was easy and the staff were so warm and friendly. They greeted us with big smiles and cold drinks which was perfect because it was a hot day. Our room was simple but nice clean beds a big window looking out at the garden and a bathroom that felt brand new. We didnt spend much time inside though because we were too excited to explore.
The swimming pools are what make this place really special. There are three of them, and each one is a beautiful shade of blue-green. The main pool has little fountains that shoot water up in the air and kids love playing under them. We spent hours just floating around on inflatable rings watching the birds fly overhead and listening to the music playing softly in the background. There are thatched-roof huts around the pool where you can sit and rest and they bring you snacks and drinks whenever you want.
But the best part has to be the beach. Its a long stretch of white sand that feels like powder under your feet. The water is so clear you can see small fish swimming around your ankles even when you are just standing in the shallow parts. We tried snorkeling for the first time there the resort rents out all the gear you need and we saw colorful corals and fish we’d never seen before. My dad went jet skiing and said it was the most fun he had in years while my mom preferred to sit under a beach umbrella with a book looking out at the islands in the distance.
Food at the resort is great too. They serve a mix of Filipino and international dishes, and everything tastes fresh. For breakfast we have longsilog or pancakes with fresh fruit the mangoes there are so sweet they almost taste like candy. For lunch and dinner we eat at the beachside restaurant where you can feel the breeze on your face while you eat grilled fish and shrimp They even let you pick out which fish you want cooked if you go early enough.
We stayed for four days and by the end none of us wanted to leave. Dakak isnt just a resort its a place where you can slow down forget about work and worries and just enjoy being with the people you love. The natural beauty is real the staff make you feel like family and every corner of the place feels like it was made for relaxing.
If youre thinking about taking a trip somewhere in the Philippines dont just stick to the places everyone talks about. Give Dakak Park & Beach Resort a chance it will give you memories that last a lifetime.
