The Faisal Mosque is one of the largest mosque in Pakistan, but as per my research and mentioned in most of the articles, it is the largest mosque in South Asia and fifth largest on Earth. It is situated in the capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad. The city is well developed, hills, greenery, one of the best place of tourist attractions and due to capital city, all of the embassies are over there. It is so well designed. Architecture played an important role in its unique design and the location is superb.
It is named after Saudi King Faisal because he was the one who granted million dollars for the construction of this mosque. It was constructed well before my birth and have so much space to allow more than 100,000 people for a single prayers.
I have been to Islamabad several times but unfortunately, unable to attend any prayers in this mosque. Yes, I have seen it from far away, like passing through nearest roads and through binoculars from Shakarparian, one of the famous touristic place in Islamabad. I always wanted to get in there and see the interior in reality but it always gets missed.
In 2015, when my eldest bro was in Pakistan with his family and we had road trip from Karachi to Peshawar. On the way back to Karachi, we went to Islamabad to meet one of his friend and the teacher of . Who used to teach him Holy Quran online. We stopped at the Faisal Mosque where both of them came to meet us.
The weather was pleasant but sunshine was giving a little bit of tough time. My eldest bro ‘s friend joined us and while we were waiting for the teacher, we started taking pictures.
This was my closest visit to the Faisal Mosque. I was really happy to be there but once again due to time limitation, I was unable to go inside. We cannot afford the delay as were on a road trip with kids.
Saif, and myself did a lot of funny stuff, making faces, making some heroic poses, too much of enjoyment and specially with these pictures.
and bro’s friend Mr.Raza also joined us in this crazy stuff.
My Father also joined us in couple of shots. We really enjoyed each and every second there. The teacher arrived and we had a bit chit chat. I was not sure what it was all about because we were busy in our funny things. We spent an hour there and then went for lunch with bro’s friend.
This was a memorable trip and we had awesome time with kids enjoying every bit of it. I will definitely share the post whenever I get a chance to get inside of this mosque. Cheers!!!
All above pictures are taken through my eldest bro's camera NIKON D5100.
