Hello Beautiful People!
Where are you living right now? Wherever you are, I hope that you are healthy and blessed.
Today, I am going to tour you around my hometown. Welcome to a village called Taptap which is located in the mountainous part of Cebu City.
Taptap is a Cebuano word that means cover. Our place is called Taptap because it is usually covered with fog during the rainy season. Some people compared our place to Baguio and Tagaytay because of the cold temperature.
Furthermore, people sometimes make a joke that whenever someone visits our place he or she will often mention"piso nalang ang plete padulong sa langit". Ironically, it means that the fare from here to heaven is only 1 peso because it is already so close and it is located in the highest part of Cebu City.
For the means of transportation, people in the old times used carabaos and horses to transport goods and services. However, nowadays we already have motorcycles that are being used for commuting and some people have cars as well.
ANIMALS, PLANTS, AND FLOWERS
The main source of income for the people living in this place is farming such as raising animals and cultivating plants and flowers.
One of the main crops that I am proud of is sweetcorn. These products are sold to the middleman who will sell the crops on the Carbon Market. Aside from vegetables and fruits, Taptap is also known to have been supplying beautiful flowers which are sold downtown.
There are different flowers planted and sold downtown. These are our flowers.
Moreover, when you visit Taptap on the first Sunday in the month of February, you will experience the grand celebration that honors the child Jesus Senior Sto. Nino. There will be Sinulog Festival, Lechon and more.
