On a bright and enthusiastic morning, we, a group of very persistent adventurous friends, started our journey to Mount Rinjani on Lombok Island. For a long time, the name Rinjani has always resonated in our conversations, and on that day, the desire to explore the beauty of the second-highest mountain in Indonesia became a reality.
The journey starts from Sembalun Village, the main entrance to the foot of Mount Rinjani. First of all, we were encouraged by the view of the lush green rice fields and the warm smiles of the local residents. Small villages with traditional houses dotted the landscape, and each step brought us closer to the grand adventure that awaited.
It didn't take long for us to arrive at the first post, the Sembalun Monitoring Post. The thinning air gave us new experiences, and the morning sunlight highlighted the path we were about to take. In this post, we meet other climbers who have the same determination. They are true friends who will accompany us every step of the climb.
Our journey became more challenging when we entered the wilderness. Large trees with shady leaves provide much-needed coolness. The sound of the forest and birds singing add to the fun of the trip. We walked carefully, each step bringing us closer to the much-awaited peak.
When the sun reached its peak in the sky, we arrived at the Senaru hut post, where we spent the night before continuing our journey to the peak the next morning. Here, the lively and enthusiastic atmosphere makes us feel like we are at home. Other climbers, with tired smiles on their faces, shared their experiences and invaluable tips.
Night fell, and we gathered around the campfire. In the midst of darkness, only the light of the fire broke the darkness of the night. A delicious dinner, full of laughter and stories, becomes a warm memory. Only under the starry skies of Lombok do we realize how small we are in this vast universe.
Early in the morning, when many people were still sleeping in their dreams, we were ready to continue our journey to the top of Rinjani. The sky was still dark, and our steps were full of enthusiasm. Climbing at night gave a different sensation, with the starry sky above our heads.
Traveling along an increasingly uphill path took us towards a higher level. The air is getting colder, but the enthusiasm to reach the top remains burning. We traversed the steep trail, with flashlights the only light in the darkness. Our adrenaline surged when we reached the peak rim, indicating that the peak of Rinjani would soon be realized.
Rinjani Peak, which we had longed for since the beginning of the journey, finally stretched out before our eyes. The sound of applause and cheers filled the air. At that moment, our tiredness disappeared, replaced by extraordinary happiness and pride. The view from the peak of Rinjani is the most beautiful reward for our perseverance and fighting spirit.
The sun rises with indescribable beauty. Segara Anak, shining in the morning sun, emits an alluring blue color. Mount Baru Jari and panoramic views of Lombok Island adorn the stunning landscape. Every corner of Rinjani Peak provides a different perspective, and we try to keep all that beauty in our memories.
After enjoying the stunning view, we descended slowly, following the same path we took to reach the top. Every step taken brings us closer to the real world, away from the peaks full of dreams, and back to everyday life full of responsibilities.
As the sun reached its peak in the sky, we arrived back at the Sembalun Monitoring Post. Faces tired, but full of satisfaction and happiness, united in smiles that reflected our extraordinary achievements. All the tiredness and sweat spent during the trip paid off with amazing natural beauty and an unforgettable experience.
Our first trip to Mount Rinjani, Lombok, with friends, was not just about climbing the mountain. It is about building memories together, overcoming personal limitations, and discovering the immeasurable beauty in nature. Mount Rinjani is not only the highest peak on this island; he is also a silent witness to our adventures, togetherness, and determination to continue exploring the beauty of this world together.
