I want to share with you my last trip, this time for academic purposes.
For my final work of History of Cuba they gave free theme with the exhibitions, the only thing was that each material had to tell a story, it could be exhibition, audiovisual material, in the form of power,…
It quickly occurred to me to tell the story of the Caney, this town is in Santiago de Cuba, it's a very big one and despite being born there I didn't even know it well myself. I decided to do it through audiovisual because this is a field that I really like and I'm good at.
Two of my companions joined me, we toured the whole village, or well, almost everything, we were left with very few areas. The most interesting thing and where we stopped the most was at the Fuerte del Viso, the place that collects the most history in the town.
This fort was a fundamental part in the Spanish-American War, it was used as another key point to defend the city due to the height at which it is located and the strength of its walls.
The place is not even close to what it was before, after the last attack they decided to talk about it like this and that it would not suffer remodeling in its structure.
The way to get to the Viso is a little complicated, before, everyone thought about it a lot to go because it is a dangerous journey, now not so much because they have populated that area a lot, all that is complicated is a river that grows and surprises from time to time and many trees that make the passage a little difficult.

As soon as you arrive you can see what is left of the fort, the truth is the place is BEAUTIFUL, and not to mention the peace, tranquility and harmony that is breathed there. It's a pity that instead of taking a lot of photos, what I did was to record a lot and the parts that would be more useful for the material were the badges and such, now I feel that the photos don't honor him even close.
The views are amazing, you can see a lot of the city, I love to see those things like that in miniatures and far away.

The entrance to the place is given by a curious, large monument, dedicated to a lieutenant.
The fort has a staircase full of inlaid carmelite stones that give a unique touch to the place by combining perfectly with the walls.
And this is how the Viso is shown.
It has only one floor and in the center there is a cannon with several cards around telling the story.

The rest of the walls just seeing them transport you to the battle that their bricks tell, not counting the damages that are visible.
The surroundings are something that I like just as much or more than El Viso, it has a picnic lawn, one was taking place right there, the air is better than in other places, fresher and purer.
The garden is beautiful, it has pink flowers that bring more life to the place.

Further down, an avenue opens that facilitated the proper development of the city's defense at the time. It is a wide street, beautiful like everything there and I have no idea where in the Caney it will go.

The place has a unique charm, it has something that invites you to spend a lot of time there, without a doubt I have already written down to have a picnic there and visit it more calmly to enjoy it more. Thank you for joining me on this journey. A hug!

Quiero compartir con ustedes mi último viaje, en esta ocasión con fines académicos.
Para mi trabajo final de Historia de Cuba dieron tema libre con las exposiciones, lo único era que cada material debía contar una historia, podía ser exposición, material audiovisual, en forma de power,…
Rápidamente se me ocurrió contar la historia del Caney, este poblado queda en Santiago de Cuba, es uno muy grande y a pesar de haber nacido ahí ni yo misma lo conocía bien. Decidí hacerlo a través de audiovisual pues este es un campo que me gusta mucho y se me da bien.
Dos de mis compañeros se me sumaron, recorrimos todo el poblado, o bueno, casi todo, se nos quedaron muy pocas zonas. Lo más interesante y en lo que nos detuvimos más fue en el Fuerte del Viso, el lugar que recoge más historia en el poblado.
Este fuerte fue parte fundamental en la guerra hispanoamericana, fue usado como otro de los puntos claves para defender la ciudad debido a la altura en la que está ubicado y la fortaleza de sus murallas.
El lugar ya no es ni de cerca lo que era antes, después del último ataque decidieron conversarlo así y que no sufriera remodelaciones en su estructura.
La forma de llegar al Viso es un poco complicada, antes, todo mundo se lo pensaba mucho para ir porque es un trayecto peligroso, ahora no tanto porque han poblado mucho esa zona, solo queda de complicado un río que de vez en cuando crece y sorprende y muchos árboles que dificultan un poco el paso.

En cuanto llegas puedes divisar lo que quedo del fuerte, la verdad el sitio es HERMOSO, y ni hablar de la paz, tranquilidad y armonía que se respira allí. Lástima que en vez de sacar muchas fotos lo que hice fue grabar mucho y las partes que me servirían más para el material que eran las tarjas y tal, ahora siento que las fotos no le hacen honor ni de cerca.
Las vistas son increíbles, se puede ver gran parte de la ciudad, amo ver esas cosas así tipo en miniaturas y bien lejos.

La entrada al lugar la da un monumento curioso, grande, dedicado a un teniente.
El fuerte tiene una escalera repleta de piedras incrustadas de color carmelita que le dan un toque único al lugar al combinar perfectamente con los muros.
Y así se muestra El Viso.
Tiene una sola planta y en el centro se muestra un cañón con varias tarjas alrededor contando la historia.

El resto de los muros de sólo verlos te transportan a la batalla que cuentan sus ladrillos, sin contar los daños que son visibles.
Los alrededores son algo que gustan igual o más que el Viso, tiene césped de picnic, justo allí se estaba llevando a cabo uno, el aire vate mejor que en otros lugares, más fresco y puro.
El jardín es hermoso, tiene flores rosas que le aportan más vida al lugar.

Más abajo despide una avenida que facilitó en su momento el buen desarrollo de la defensa de la ciudad. Es una calle amplia, bonita como todo lo de allí y que ni idea a qué parte del Caney irá.

El sitio posee un encanto único, tiene algo que te invita a pasar mucho rato allí, sin duda alguna ya anoté realizar un picnic allí y visitarlo con más calma para disfrutarlo más. Gracias por acompañarme en este viaje. Un abrazo!
