Yesterday we visited the small town of Vila Velha de Rodao, next to the Tejo river which is the longest one of the Iberian peninsula, ending in Lisbon.
There is a small dock with a few boats where you can rent a river tour which we did.
The little town is quite close to the Spanish border and the river is the frontier of two portuguese districts: Castelo Branco and Alto Alenteijo.
While on the boat tour we crossed Portas do Rodao area which were created over milions of years erosion.
The area also has the bigest vulture coloni of the Iberian peninsula and we were lucky to see several fliying while crossing the doors as thats where they have their nests.
We also took the time to visit a small castle in the area where we could see stuning views of the area.
Finally I took some sunset shots from the little town we are staying.
