The Twelve Chairs is a 1971 Soviet comedy film directed by Leonid Gaidai. It is an adaptation of Ilf and Petrov's 1928 novel The Twelve Chairs. What is the history of the monument?
A monument to Ilf and Petrov "12th chair" was erected in Odesa on April 1, 1999. And it is located in the heart of the city. The place is very popular, and the monument itself is remarkable. This is an exact bronze copy of such a desirable chair for Ostap Bender.
On a round plinth made of paving bricks, there is a 2-step granite pedestal, on which, in turn, a life-sized chair rises.
On the back of the chair that holds the treasures, you can read the well-known quotes from the novel: "The ice has broken, gentlemen of the jury!" other. Tourists and not only very much love to sit on it and take a couple of pictures as a keepsake.
