Hail to the Hive!
Now usually when we read posts of peoples travels they are usually, not always but usually, focused on the main attractions and the everyday areas where people live tou may not see. So I thought that as I had to restock my beer supplies and was taking a 1.5km round trip stroll to the local neighborhood shop I’d show you around.
So first we leave the homestead of the parents of my significant other and hang a left down the street.
This is the first stretch all the way along this little neighborhood road lined with palm trees.
Now, in thenphoto below ⬇️,this road on my right leads to the small shack store of ‘Miss Precious’ but today I’m buying a larger amount of beer so need to get a better price so a walking on a Wednesday I will go.
This is the junction from above. This morning while filming the sunrise I also took shots of the route I would be taking from above to give a little perspective.
And this is the green clearing on the left of the junction, which was used for a very loud Christmas party the other night day. They were playing tunes I liked so we had no reason to play any music at the house such was the volume. Kinda goes with the territory in Jamaica, they do love a loud sound system.
Most of the houses on the scheme started w8th an original small square home that the owners have extended and enlarged in a variety of differeways and painted them also in a variety of different colours and it seems most homes seem to be an a sort of ‘ unfinished’ state. I guess as more funds become available the plans continue.
It is a tad warm but the thought of all that cold beer at the end of the journey is very appealing. So On I go.
It is nice to see some of the homes completed in a very nice and colourful style. The palm trees surrounding them make the, look like the ideal home.
The junction at the end of the roadmis coming up and looming ahead a house that could be the Jamaican Addams Family home.
As I approach I am trying to work out in my head what the Addams Family theme tune would sound like in a reggae stylee 😄. It’s a show that needs to ne made in my opinion and this is the location sorted out.
Ok now I need to hang another left here.
It’s getting warmer but I know from the aerial shots I have taken that it isn’t far now.
Just a little further.
Hmmm ‘Lifestyle Hotspot!’
Well judging from the sign they have most bases covered there.
And then suddenly I have arrived at the promise land. I have to say it was much nearer than I thought and didn’t take long at all. I think poor Miss precious may not be seeing too much of me know as the beer is wayyyyyy cheaper here too😁.
So there you have a casual Wednesday Walk in a local Jamaican neighborhood to bet emergency supplies (beer).
I mean they say the crime is bad here but I can see not ome but two unlocked bicycles that I know would be gone by now in my hometown of Leicester. Pooof, vanished, gone in 60 seconds. So there you go!
