Hi, it was a long time since our last post, how's it going guys? The Lunar New Year is finally done, we're back to our home beach city from Hanoi. That was a long break for us to reunite with our family and celebrate the most important holiday of the year. The weather in the North is so freaking cold now even that where I grew up. The air quality is getting worse and it is trash in Hanoi to be honest. I am so happy that we are back to Cam Ranh with our the adventures await.
Today, instead of talking about traveling, let's check out our normal life in this tourist city - Cam Ranh.
Cam Ranh is a city in Khanh Hoa province, it is always ranked high in the list of the best beaches in the world. This place was a touristic city before the pandemic came but at the moment, everything is deadly empty. The economics seems to be so depressed for local business since their income depends so much on tourist service. But for people that just want to live our life here like us, this is the best time to stay in Cam Ranh without the chaos. Except the time that they shut down all restaurants, no one even are allowed to go outside to buy food for 2 weeks which made the city sucks, we like Cam Ranh a lot. We can easily travel to Nha Trang to access more entertainment, malls, and western stuffs and at the end of the day, go back to Cam Ranh to avoid the noise of Nha Trang city.
Traffic jam because of construction while people waiting for the train to go by. I heard that one time when the train was coming, the guard forgot to close the barrier and one bike just cross the track at the same time with the train. That guy passed away of course after that.
A buffalo gang caught us on the road
When we first came here, we were surprised to find that locals love to swim at dawn or around 5 to 6 pm. We also tried surfing in the morning but honestly it was way too cold, it actually feel better as we get used to it more. In the morning, we prefer to ride bicycle around the town, stop at a vendor coffee to pick up our cup for the day and go chilling at the beach. Beside the rain season which only last one to two months in a year, the weather in Cam Ranh is perfect for us. We are out almost all day and just get back to work in night time. No wonder why we're both tanned as h*ll.
The weather in Cam Ranh is pretty hot, but since they are next to the beach it does not feel bad at all while driving on the road with the crazy wind blows right onto your face. However, you should prepare that once you stop moving, the heat will hit you. Sweating is not fun. Not like other main cities like Hanoi or Saigon, the road in Cam Ranh is so nice and spacious for motorbikes, you can drive forever without hitting any bums, and also, no pollution that we nearly never wear masks.
Someone's farm in the middle of nowhere
We both like waterfalls but to be honest, Cam Ranh does not have that much of big big one compared to Da Lat that we know. The vibes of the two cities aren so different. Da Lat does have the vibe of a
Our dirt-bike is really living his life getting dirt on him and go through adventures with us everyday
Somedays when we missed the chaos of the city, we drove to Nha Trang, the city next to us. This city is much crowed than where we live, majority of places are for tourists, the beaches are really clean and they also have lots of entertaining activities like island tours, huge malls, amusement parks and many choices when it comes to Western foods. You will have an easier life in Nha Trang, I am sure.
I laid down on Nha Trang beach after a long day wandering around the city.
That was briefly our normal life of a normal couple in this tourist city - Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa of Vietnam.
Hope that one day some of our people from the Hive community with come and dive into the ocean with us. Thank you for your time of reading and have a good day!
