"In every place we travel, may it be natural wonder or manmade, there is always a story behind its beauty. So before you leave, make sure you learn it's story or history."
Hello to all travelers and adventurers here on hive, particularly here . I hope your enjoying your travel wherever you are right now. This time I'll be sharing one of a historical place here in the Philippines that is found right on our Province of Benguet, our very own "AMBUKLAO DAM".
While we were on our way home from La Trinidad, Benguet, we passed by one of the dams here in Benguet, the "Ambuklao Dam". Since it was along the road side we have a quick stop over and capture the hidden beauty of the said DAM.
This place has become popular stopover for travelers going to and from Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet and other nearby provinces. It is found along the National Road that's why many passerby stop by for a quick photo to capture the beauty of the DAM. It’s accessible to all passerby making it a perfect spot for stopover, rest and take photos.
If you ever feel dizzy or tired from the trip, you can stop here for a while and enjoy the scenery and fresh air with a breathtaking view of the dam. It is surrounded by mountains and pine trees that make the scenery even more stunning, makes it ideal for photo shoots like prenup and other special occasions.
There are also plenty of fish in the dam, most especially the one we called "Tilapia". In fact, most of the "Tilapia" fish supply in Benguet comes from here, although there are some that come from nearby provinces who deliver to the province. The fish raised here grow quite large and tasty!
The water stored here directly comes from AGNO RIVER, which is one of the longest and most important river in the Philippines. During heavy rains, the dam water turns a bit browny, but on clear and sunny days like today the water color is green or blue green making the view absolutely stunning and breathtaking. So sunny day or during summer is a great time to visit Ambuklao Dam!
This AMBUKLAO DAM was built during 1950's, so many of us was not born yet but this Dam is already built here. Hehe According to my research to some of the residents nearby and online, particularly on government site, AMBUKLAO DAM was the first among the country's largest HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT IN THE PHILIPPINES. Knowing it's history is such an honor and pride as i personally visit this place.
I'm really thankful to have an opportunity to visit and capture its beauty and share it with you all. That's all about our quick stopover here at AMBUKLAO DAM and I hope you like it.
Thank you so much for reading my travel blog. I really appreciate your time and support. Always remember to keep smiling and stay safe.
Mabuhay!
