Hello, and howdy wonderful friends in this beautiful community. How are you today? I hope you are all safe and doing great.
It's been a while since I am not posting on this community. A lot of paperwork and personal matters to attend to regarding my health priorities which is why I cannot focus on writing my blog. Trying to unload the heavy work and the stress, thankfully I have my friends with me who are always on the go.
Trying to figure out where to go, I decided to visit the flower garden of Buwakan ni Alejandra for the second time. Since all of us love to go for adventure and love to see those lovely flowers in the place, they agreed to go with me fixing and unloading ourselves.
The adventure goes...
It was Sunday morning, the sun shines brightly. After going to church, we decided to activate the plan to visit Buwakan ni Alejandra. From Ayala Center Cebu terminal, we ride a van for hire going to Balamban Cebu. Since it was just 8:00 am, we waited for 30mins. to make the van at full capacity.
We arrived at 9:40 in the morning going up the hills. Reaching the place, you can see directly the signage "Buwakan ni Alejandra". And because it was the weekend, a lot of people is already up to visit the place. A lot of expansion and development being posted on Facebook regarding the place, so let's check it out.
People from different places of Cebu or even outside Cebu island wish to visit the place for its picturesque flower garden. For sure, a lot of us are also interested to witness the beauty of the different flowers planted in the area.
Before taking the virtual tour, we must pay the entrance fee of 100Php per adult person or 1.85 USD, for ages 6 to 10 years old, Senior Citizens, and PWD is 75Php or 1.38 USD.
As I mentioned in my intro post, one of the best places which I love to visit again and again, would be "Buwakan ni Alejandra". Of all the places I've been to, this place gives you the best view of flowers and nature. While sitting down in the area for sure you will be delighted with the different flora and fauna planted.
Buwak (in local dialect) which means flowers. Thus, the word buwakan means a "flower garden". On the other hand, Alejandra is the mother-in-law of the councilman in the barangay and the flower garden's landscaper. The place was then named in honor of her love for the flowers. This means that "Buwakan ni Alejandra" denotes "the flower garden of Alejandra".
The place is located in the humble town of the municipality of Balamban, Cebu. For those who love flowers, this place is a must to visit. With the flowers around, it will set your mood and reduce your stress from whatever struggles you are dealing with.
From the last time I went to visit the place, a lot of changes is being made. Maybe, this is another setup to ensure that people will still come back to the place looking for another adventure and an overlooking view.
Parade of Colors
A lot of different flower varieties you can see in the area with varied colors.
Hydrangea plants with blue and purple flowers. Seeing the bunch of flowers of this plant is awesome. With the lovely colors of its flowers, it gives more attraction to the tourists in the place. Because the flower is in full bloom, a lot of people love to pose and take pictures of this.
I wonder how heavy this bunch of large size flowers is to its stem. Seeing them in groups is impressive.
The Wax Begonia in pink flower is also in full bloom. It was so lovely seeing them in groups. Its stem is very delicate and easy to break so let's be careful in passing by this lovely flower.
Putting this plant in an outside area will give you the brightest color of its flowers.
The spider flower also gives you airy flowers in a pink and white combination.
For me, the best plant mostly used in landscape is the Mayana plant. With the varied colors of this plant, you can see that its effect is incredible. It creates a vibrant atmosphere for the visitors.
Take note: Let's take part in taking care of the plants. Avoid touching sensitive plants to avoid damage. Be a responsible traveler.
Different Garden Designs
The Cave
Their cave landscape is placed at the upper portion. If you want shade from the scorching heat of the sun you can stay inside this cave. It has unique designs with the use of local materials like a wagon to create a circular design that will look like a cave.
The Lorax
Inspired by the famous children's book "The Lorax", a fable about the environment. Buwakan ni Alejandra creates its way how to make use of the small spaces below the rainbow bridge with the use of metal poles, they put up a circulated landscape of Mayana plants on top.
The Throne
The newest design of the place is situated on the lower portion near the pathway of colors. Its location gives you an overlooking view of the beautiful pathway of the Mayana plant.
The footsteps going up to the throne is very colorful. Its throne is made up of metals which will cater to 2 persons at a time.
The Pathway of Colors
With an array of Mayana plants near the pathway, it creates vibrant colors. Its striking colors are eye-catchy to visitors.
Most of the visitors love to pose at the center of the pathway because of the different colors that the Mayana plant radiates, it creates an awesome effect on the pictures.
The Rainbow Bridge
The colorful rainbow bridge is placed at the top of the flower garden. It gives you a full view of the flower garden all over the place.
Other Amenities
After the destruction of Typhoon Odette, the restaurant is back to give you a delicious and affordable meal after a long walk from the flower garden.
You can also take pictures of their overlooking view from above. You can feel the gentle touch of the cold breeze of the wind on your face.
You can also take your prenup photoshoot in the place for 1000Php or 18.46 USD rentals. Because of the beautiful view, a lot of prenup shots are taken place in the area.

As David W. Dorris said, "Life can be too precious not to live every minute to the fullest. Because life is too short, we should never take no as an answer when yes is more practical".
Unloading ourselves for a while away from paperwork and personal matters to attend to in life is never a burden. Laughing out with friends and going out for a walk and adventure is another way to keep ourselves free from stress.
It's never selfish to recharge ourselves and reward us with travels.
Have a great day everyone!
