In the Heart of Soho
You can find Carnaby Street in the heart of Soho in London, a very popular area, for both Londoners and Tourists. Just by Regent Street and Oxford Circus, Carnaby Street and all the smaller streets around are very popular for their shops, pubs, bars and restaurants.
And now, with the Coronation coming, the streets of central London are getting ready for that celebration.

Don't visit on weekends
This is my friendly advice, although this is a great area to visit, because it is so popular and so central, EVERYONE ends up passing by.
Because of that, the area can become really crowded. I would advise you to pick a day of the week and visit early in the day.
Also, if you are planning to stop somewhere to grab a bite or maybe a couple of drinks. For sure, go early, because all the places will be full.
I have passed by and visited this place so many times, but I never get tired of it. And now every time I am in the area, my most favourite thing to do is to just look around and do some people watching.
It is very interesting to see all the types of different people going around. And in such a busy area for sure there are a lot of things to see.
Something else fun about this place is the decorations and how the shops try to out do the others so they can catch your attention. That is something else very special around this area.
So if you are around make sure you look everywhere and try to find as many fun details as you can.
You can easily spend a couple of hours in this place, just walking around, browsing and specially if you stop for a snack or a drink. The atmosphere of the place is very nice and I recommend.
Be prepared to spend money
This is a very expensive area and that is another of the downfalls of this place for me. You can visit other areas in London, less crowded with the same vibe that aren't as posh and expensive as Carnaby Street.
But if you want to scream and cry a little bit, or if you want to feel more poor than you actually are. Just try and go to Liberty. A very expensive department store. You will find many high end brands and probably you will see that the People inside it are way different from all the people around.
Still, it is an interesting place to visit. Just be ready to be shocked with the prices you are about to see.
I have been in the UK for 11 years and I have never entered in Liberty. I remember I went there, the first time I visited London as a tourist. But I got so shocked that I have decided I would never visit this place again.
Carnaby Street is a nice place to visit
Although I have named some negatives about this area, I think that this is still a very nice place to visit and enjoy. Even if you just want to pass by and use those streets instead of the busy Oxford Street and Regent Street.
For sure this are is more interesting.
