Hello everyone, as promised today I want to tell you about a very special village located in the province of Grosseto, in Tuscany. This is Magliano, a small medieval town located right next to the ruin that I showed you in yesterday's post. In my opinion, this village absolutely deserves a visit, not only for its beauty and history, but also for its privileged position, surrounded as it is by the unspoiled nature of the Maremma.
Magliano is a place full of charm, with stone houses and cobbled streets that wind through the hills, a fortress that dominates the town and a Romanesque church that stands imposingly in its centre. Walking through its streets, you can breathe the pure air of the countryside and admire the beauty of the surrounding landscape, with spectacular views of the sea.
But Magliano is not only an ancient village full of history, it is also an ideal place for those who love nature and outdoor activities. In fact, the town is surrounded by the Maremma Natural Park, a protected area that offers a wide range of opportunities for nature lovers, such as hiking, cycling and horse riding, as well as sightings of wild animals.
In this post, I want to share with you my sensations and emotions that I experienced while discovering this beautiful village. I was lucky enough to visit this place and I wanted to capture some of its most interesting aspects through some photos. Although I'm not fully satisfied with the result, I hope they will still be able to give you an idea of how enchanting this place is.
The village of Magliano in Toscana is a place full of history and natural beauty, but what struck me the most is its imposing fortress. Built in the 12th century, this fortress was erected to protect the village from enemy invasions and is still in excellent condition today.
The fortress consists of a series of stone walls that surround the village and a watchtower that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and the sea. Walking along the walls and climbing the watchtower is an exciting experience that makes you feel like a true defender of the village.
I was surprised by the fact that the visit to the fortress is completely free, even if you can only enter the exterior and take a tour of the towers. However, the panoramic view that can be enjoyed from the fortress is unforgettable and made me understand the history and importance of the village and of Tuscany. Unfortunately there is no museum inside the fortress, I would have liked to know more about its history and how it was used in the past.
In general, the fortress of Magliano is a hidden treasure worth visiting for anyone who wants to discover the beauty and history of this charming Tuscan village.
During my visit to Magliano I noticed that there are many bed and breakfasts in the village. This made me think that it might be a great idea to spend a night or two in this enchanting place to be able to fully explore it and discover all its wonders. Personally, I think one of the most beautiful things to do in this village is to stroll through its streets and admire its historic buildings and panoramic views. I therefore advise you to book a bed and breakfast and enjoy a holiday in this enchanting place, where you can immerse yourself in the history and beauty of Tuscany.
As usual, I hope this post has provided you with interesting information and inspired you to discover new places. In this specific case, I have tried to take you on a discovery of the beautiful Borgo di Magliano, a place rich in history and natural beauty that absolutely deserves to be visited.
