Hello friends of Pinmapple, this beautiful community where I like to share what I discover in my life.
In today's post I want to tell you about an important castle located in Castelluccio, in the province of Bologna, and which is not well known abroad but from my point of view it is very nice.
What I particularly like about this castle is the fact that it is neo-Gothic style, in fact we must understand that it was restored in the late 1800s and therefore partly took the style of the time.
Because honestly I have never liked the classic medieval castles so much, I have grown so fond of these types of castles.
Even in Italy it was very fashionable that industrialists of a certain prestige, they built their own castle for residence.
This I must say that in some places it is a bit disturbing, In fact, at the entrance if you notice at the top right there is a hand like that of the Addams Family, I didn't understand much the meaning, but it was probably the taste of Alessandro Manservisi, the one who restored the castle.
This castle remained the property of the Manservisi family until 1912 when it was donated to charity and became a summer colony for a period.
Later it was bought by some private individuals who immediately transformed it into a restaurant, then in a hotel and finally it was donated to an association, that thanks to the help of numerous volunteers makes it available for free visits.
Of course when I visited I left a free offer because it seems right that those who take care of these places helped themselves in some way.
Unfortunately they are places that the state should take care of instead it does not care.
I was particularly impressed by the inside of the Castle which is really well kept and even there are still some typical furnishings from the 1800s,most likely the original furnishings that the Manservisi family left there. There was a stove that was beautiful that they probably warmed up with, this I must tell you is truly impressive.
I was very impressed because inside the main room there was also the oven, it was probably used to prepare bread that was consumed on a daily basis.
I have not toured all the internal rooms because there are more than 20 and not all are accessible like these you see in the photos.
The lady who guided us informed us that the idea of the association is to use this castle in the future to make temporary exhibitions, it would be a great idea that would enhance this monument even more.
Thank you for reading this post up to this point,I hope that my story and my photos have been appreciated by you, see you at the next post, I wish you a good day.
